Mid week Mid winter break
We are over half way through Mid Winter Break and trying our best to soak it in and find fun things to do as we try to organize our day around the contractors coming in everyday to work on the basement. We have had lots of time for chores and movies and treats. Yesterday we went out with some close friends to explore the ice wall in fish creek park. SO MUCH FUN WAS HAD!
They played and played and played and if we didn't have completed frozen toes, we would have stayed longer. Its so nice that our group was the only group there playing. The boys have been begging me to take them to 7-11 and the toy store. They both have $5 gift Cards to 7-11 and wanted to each take $22 to the toy store. I thought this would be a nightmare especially considering Penny didn't have any money or gift card of her own but I am so impressed by them/ Penny was just supportive and they were so kind to share with her. The boys also pooled all their Money together to get a BeyBlade stadium and two new Beys. I can't believe they did this, all on their own, I was impressed how they worked together to make it happen. Good job boys!! Really, such a fun day.
Bentley and Penny also each lost a tooth yesterday! Right before bed. Bentley's was loose and bugging him so he just "twisted it like a tornado" and yanked it out. So brave! Penny was a bit more dramatic with close to an hour of wanting to pull it but also having complete anxiety and nerves. Eventaully I convinced her to let me have ONE (only one!) pull. As I was explaining to her that as soon as it hurts, I'll stop, I yanked it out before she even had time to think about it. It was so super loose because her adult tooth was already coming up behind it. SO happy her tooth is out. Of course, she was very brave too and happy it was gone after.
We spent some time at a friends house earlier this week and this morning we made it out to the library. Its always fun renting out new books for the kids. Also, it always allows for THE PERFECT pictures.. even if I look crazy lugging around my big camera and capturing these perfectly sweet moments of them reading and loving on books. They're so cute.
We are having fun. We are trying to soak in this time together and truly, Im loving it. Hopefully we can squeeze in a few more adventures before school next week!
