October is here!
October has arrived and seems to be staying as busy as September! There are things going on every day and so far and honestly, Im just trying to keep up without forgetting anything.. this seems like an impossible task at the moment.
Yesterday, picking up the kids after school, I saw Penny running over to me with something very exciting to share. She opened her mouth wide open and told me show lost her first tooth!!! What the heck! Where did my baby go!? She said she tried to eat a gingerbread man cookie and her little tooth just popped right out! Crazy!

She was so excited and felt like such a big girl. Of course the tooth fairy came last night and left her a $5 bill for her very first tooth. She was pretty happy. In fact, she woke me up at 2:30am to show me her money and to announce that the tooth fairy did infect come! Apparently she also woke up Bentley, too early this morning, to tell him the tooth fairy took her tooth in exchange for some cash. Sharing her excitement all around!
This past weekend was General Conference at church. I love this weekend. I love hearing the inspired teachings from the prophet and apostles. I love hearing all the new changes and new temples. I love staying in pyjamas and cuddling up but it is really hard to keep kids busy so this time around, I did something different!
I found this idea online and am so glad I did. I created a General Store for the kids.

They earned cash by being reverent during the prayers and by listening and being quiet during the talks. They could earn extra cash if they could each tell me one thing that was said during the talk and had to pay taxes if they were loud or not listening. THEY LOVED THIS!!!

The store opened as soon as General Conference started and they could go shopping between the sessions or during any song break during conference. They saved their money first to buy the big ticket items and then just went crazy buying as much as they could with the money they were earning.

It worked so well that Brian and I were actually able to hear the conference this time around and the kids were quiet and listening, it really was so nice and the general store got CLEARED OUT!

I also had other little things for them to do while they listened, like colouring the tie to match the person speaking and BINGO.

Once they got BINGO, they got more cash!
The weather has also been SUPER WEIRD recently. Its either sunny and windy or SNOWING LIKE CRAZY! Today is a super snowy day.. again. However, it looks like its going to clear up again by the end of the week. My fingers are crossed. Until then, this is our backyard view.

Thanksgiving it coming up this week and Im excited to share a toast with our family and EXTRA EXCITED that Brian will be home this weekend! Hip Hip Hooray!
