Arthritis Walk 2019
Today was a gorgeous day for this walk. I love any excuse I get to go downtown and enjoy the beautiful city we live in. It was 28 degrees and sunny today and perfect. Before the 5km walk started, we did some stretching!
And then the fun began. Im always so impressed by all these young kids. They get it and walk and chase each other around, nearly get run over by bicycles and pick up all the gross disease ridden feathers they can find and they have a BLAST every single year. I love that our kids are growing up with cousins so close. My sister and I never had that and its so nice to see these strong relationships form between them.
As always, what makes this day extra nice is having all Brian's siblings there enjoying it with us.
We finished the "race" with everyone still smiling so it was a great success!
Then it was time to enjoy the fun! Face painting, popcorn, a juggler, music, sandwiches.. it was all wonderful!
Lucy and Penny got matching butterflies and Carter and Bentley got matching spiders!
Watching Penny make Gus laugh was ADORABLE!!! I never wanted it to stop!
And this juggler guy had all their attention when he started asking them to toss in the last pin!
And can we just pause life for a moment and soak in baby Gus! I mean, look at how cute he is!!!! And this moment with his Daddy is just too sweet for words!
The day was going GREAT! And then BAM... literally, BAM.... Bentley runs right into a table. Oh my tender heart. He immediately got a giant goose egg and again on the exact same spot he had gotten his last one a couple of weeks ago that we found ourselves in the hospital for a concussion for. Poor Bentley, my heart hurts for his poor little noggin.
Luckily, this time he could totally remember what he was doing and where we were. He didn't feel sick or sleepy but we gave him his sunglasses and decided to head home to take it easy. We spent the afternoon just hanging out. Brian's been super excited for the Toronto Raptors game tonight and got the kids excited for it too so for dinner on this hot day, we did snack plates and for dessert we had fresh mango, popcorn and some home-made sugar cookies.. raptors style!
Hopefully Bentley's poor head can heal properly and fully this time. We had such a lovely day as a family, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else but here.
