Mom's Movie Theatre
We had a GREAT start to our spring break week off but then, Thursday morning, Bentley woke up with PinkEye.... NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! We took him straight to the eye doctor and sure enough, pinkeye. However, because a few years ago we had a pinkeye epidemic run though our house over and over again, I caught it immediately and luckily with some immediate antibiotic eye drops its all gone and he didn't pass it along to anyone else! Win! However, with that, we have been stuck in this house for DAYS and Im over it. Brian works long hours every Friday and Saturday so I was truly going stir crazy by myself with the kids stuck in the house. We had to cancel playdates, miss two bday parties and a gender reveal party. Not fun. And although Bentley was the only one with pinkeye, I know that it has a 7 day incubation period before symptoms show and I also know that its SUPER contagious which meant we were all stuck at home even if it was just Bentley showing it.
Luckily, because the kids are older they aren't slobbering all over each other sharing cups etc like they used to so we're in the clear and to be honest, because we caught it immediately, he was looking WAY better by Friday and Saturday and today we resume back to normal.
To keep us busy while being stuck at home, I made a surprise "Mom's theatre" which was a HUGE hit! They were all playing upstairs so I knocked on the wall and said I had a mail delivery and handed this note to them.
They caught on right away and I could hear Bentley say "THIS IS SO FUN!" as Carter finished reading the card. They talked about which movie and ended up choosing Rio 2 and sending the card back downstairs to me. The lights were off, the previews were set and we were ready to go!
Their smiles as they walked down the stairs were so good! They were even extra happy when they saw that there was a concession stand waiting for them too.
To make it as legit as possible, I even had 20 minutes of previews ready to go from new cartoon movies that are coming out this year.
They LOVED the previews, and I did too! They sat through the whole movie and enjoyed their theatre experience so much that they asked if we could do it one more time the next day. Since we are stuck at home anyway, I complied.
Finding things to do at home was getting tricky, in fact, we even made Father's Day Gifts because we were so board. Seriously, longest days Eeeeevvvvvveeeerrrrr!
I made the kids fun little blizzards (mint oreo topped with whipping cream and mini eggs to be exact) and they were all devoured.
And although I was ready for the boys to go back to school this morning, it was only because I couldn't imagine being stuck at home again today and neither could they. Bentley's pinkeye was timed pretty good though for weather. We got to enjoy the warm sunny days outside and then we were stuck inside when it was cold and literally having a BLIZZARD outside on Saturday. We are on the home stretch to summer and I couldn't be happier because I love spending my time with these three babes!
