A Breath of fresh air!

Spring break has officially started and we started it off on the wrong foot actually. It started off sleeping in a few minutes too much and rushing off to a dentist appointment for all three kids. We were all hungry and needed to stop at the grocery store before heading home and frankly, we were all cranky. So we changed the pace of the day and took an impromptu trip out to Elbow Falls. Its one of my very favourite places. Its where Brian proposed to me and where we have gone more time than we can count. Its only 40 minutes from home with no cell service and only raw nature around you.

It was exactly what we needed.

Immediately we all felt better. No distractions, fresh air and a cool breeze on a hot day. It was perfectly perfect. We headed down to the river and spent a good amount of time skipping rocks and throwing in boulders. We laughed and raced and got dirty.

Being out in nature really does have so many benefits. The mountains are my favourite place to visit. Its calming and relaxing and it clears my mind. It rejuvenates me.

We made a rock tower, and climbed fallen trees and and took in all the views.

I love having these three amigos with me, adventuring and admiring this beautiful world we live in!

I brought this egg carton from home and we used it as kind of a scavenger hunt. The idea was to put 30 different things that we found in it and make a collection. It took us the whole time but they filled every spot and Im so glad I thought to bring it because it really was fun and gave us a purpose while we were there and to work together to get it done. They're the best teammates.

After a few hours spent in this gorgeous place we headed back home for dinner. We feel refreshed and it was the perfect last minute idea to calm a cranky day.

They give me everything I need. Happy Earth Day!
