Thirty two.
Friday morning, Brian's mom had our kids over to play while we went to the temple together. It was a great start to an amazing weekend. Friday evening we got tickets to go to the Flames Hockey game. I forgot how much I love doing this! I love flames games with Brian. It was our first ever date when we were teenagers and every time we go I can't help but think about that evening that started it all 15 years ago! Before the game we went out to a little restaurant downtown called "Ten Foot Henry" its wonderful and if you've never been, you should go!
It was WONDERFUL going to bed in a quiet house with no chance of being woken up through the night. Saturday morning we got up and headed out on a really fun off roading adventure that Brain had been researching. I will admit that I was nervous about it. I was scared to get stuck or stranded with zero cell reception. I typically go to worse case scenario but everything went great and we had a great time.
The truck was pushing through 3 feet of snow, through rivers, on ice, between trees and on river beds, it was quiet and peaceful out there alone. I am happy to report we only got stuck once and had to pull one guy up a massive hill who was stuck on the hill. We found the most beautiful spot and frozen falls and completely soaked in the quiet calming peace of the mountains surrounding us.
I tried to take a few pictures on the road but it was really bumpy so we did a little video instead.
We picked the kids up this morning before heading to church feeling refreshed. They had a blast and so did we. It was such a nice break and of course, so nice to have them home again. Bentley has been "all hands on deck" ready to celebrate my birthday. He helped Brian with my birthday gift and when we got home from church he made a cute little bowl game with points that he cut out and taped on the bowls. What a sweetheart.
Bentley chose Hot dogs as my birthday dinner. He said both him and I like them .. and truly I had two date nights with dinner out both nights so letting him pick a dinner he really thought was a winner, was worth it. He gave Brian ONE job which was to pick up the ice cream cake. Brian grabbed one late Saturday night and had to choose between a flames one and a My little Pony one (LOL). Bentley was NOT satisfied with the flames pick and told me that Daddy should have bought one with hearts and flowers. His vision was ruined but somehow he pulled himself together to enjoy the boy cake. ;)
I made them little hammocks under the table and opened by cute little collage gift that they made. It was so fun to see so many of my photos of our family pulled into an image of the kids and I. I love them so much.
Ive had gift cards dropped off, a fancy cupcake and so many birthday wishes. At church today, my young women sang me happy birthday twice and spoiled me with a couple of chocolate bars. My heart is full and if this birthday is any indication of how my year will be, then I bet it's going to be a great year! I am so lucky to have so many incredible people in my life and totally felt the love today!
