Penny girl is FOUR!
Every ounce of me is trying to rejoice in the fact that our baby is four today but the reality is, I am not ok. I don't want her to grow up. I want her to stay little, stay my little but, its inevitable and she is so excited that she is four. She's excited to be in a booster seat and get measured on our growth chart hanging on the wall. She can't wait to grow up and I am wishing time would slow down, or just stop so I can soak in our three year old just a little longer.
Penny is such an amazing little girl. She is the BEST sidekick. She comes to all appointments, helps me when I do infant shoots at my home during the day and is the most kind loving soul you will ever meet. She constantly is telling me "I love you with all my heart Mommy" and "I just want to cuddle you forever" and every time she does, I cherish it.
This year I asked Penny what she would like to do for her four year old birthday photos. She was very quick to tell me that she would like a picture with a unicorn AND a baby photoshoot with her Mavy. This nearly made my heart stop. HOW CUTE IS SHE!! If Ive taken your infant photos in the past year, then ten chances to one my little helper has been apart of it so she has seen A TON of babies getting special pictures done including ones with their mama. So this birthday, I made it happen for her.
First, a picture with a unicorn. It really made all her dreams come true and the little shy smile that softly appeared on her face when I showed her the end result was priceless. We love you Penny Girl.

Next Penny and I did her "Mommy and Me shoot". She was excited to go into my work cupboard and pick out all the bonets, wraps and outfits for her Baby. When he fussed, she would sooth him by saying "shhh, shhh, shhh" and at one point she was talking to him saying "its ok Mavy, Its ok" and put her little finger in his mouth. This sweet girl is so gentle and maternal its the sweetest sight to see.

There are so many qualities we love about this girl. She doesn't really tantrum and is ALWAYS reminding us to pray. She is so kind and LOVES making new friends. She is beyond confident and I LOVE this about her. She is also VERY independent. Such an amazing little girl.

Penny girl, you are one of a kind. Daddy and I (and your brothers too!) adore you. You are a peace maker in our home. You share with everyone so well. You give the best "Koala" hugs and the amount of times you ask for a foot massage (and get one!) is beyond me. You are so gentle, kind and loving. You are sensitive to those around you. We couldn't even imagine life without you. You really are so special to our family. Every single moment we spend with you is a perfect moment well spent.
Today was a pretty relaxing day with my girl. We dropped off the boys at school, hung out at home and painted our nails (rainbow nails for Penny!). We picked up a little cake for after dinner tonight and fruit snacks to share with her preschool class tomorrow (She chose fruit snacks to share instead of cupcakes). We also stopped at the LEGO store and she made her own little lego figure to take home (they let you make and take a mini figure if its your birthday). We ended the day with her choice of dinner which was classic spaghetti and cake. Brian's parents joined us tonight too which was great! They spoiled her with a sweet unicorn blanket for her baby, an adorable unicorn apron and SUPER cute unicorn dishes. Thanks Mom and Dad Reed for making Penny feel so special!

As for our family, we got Penny a handful of things she loves. A Peppa Pig book, bubblegum, warm jammies and a t-shirt and also a purple unicorn stuffy that she's been eyeing and asking for every time we saw it at the grocery store. We also surprised her with a booster seat. This was the highlight! She's over the 40 pound mark (in fact, her and Bentley basically weigh the same right now) and she's been dying to be in a booster seat. She was so excited today to get it.
Penny girl, we love you like crazy! We are so excited to see what this next year hold for you. Happy 4th birthday sweetheart.
