Discover and play is our kind of day!
I also realized that as much as I bring my camera on so many of our adventures, I don't get pictures of playing with the kids. I still put it down and play. I jump and run and chase and be in the moment and I snap shots along the way. Its a fine balance.. but looking at these awesome adventures, I realize I'm in none of these adventure photos. Sometimes it stinks being on the flip side of the camera (Brian.. this is your cue to start grabbing the camera more often and capturing me and my babies sometimes too!). I actually really hate being in pictures 90% of the time but its starting to bug me that I hardly have any "play" photos with the kids.. only posed ones that I ask for and usually only during our annual family photos. I need to work on that.
We've had such fun week. Brian started a new job in the city (soooo close to home, hooray!) and we're adjusting to a new schedule and its been great so far. In his rotation, he had thursday off this week so the kids and I took him on a "day date" and it was awesome! We started off at Granary Road. Brian's never been so it was fun for the kids to show him around.
Bentley and I were the smart ones and did the slide at the chicken coop one at a time. This slide is hilarious. Its crazy steep and doesn't really have a gradual slope at the end so its basically like your sliding super fast and then hitting your butt or tailbone at the very bottom and there isn't any sliding to a stop because the slide.. just stops. Soooo you've either peed your pants a bit at the end or have a bruised butt however somehow we still do it every single time. Don't ask me why, but their faces say it all.
This boy right here is so fun. He has been holding my hand almost everywhere these days and i want to freeze time because this is the best!
We explored so much at Granary Road with Brian, and the kids were so happy that he was there with us.
Usually in our family we measure the amount of fun by how dirty our feet are by the end of the day and this takes the cake.. and it was only 11am!
We left Granary Road right around lunch time and the kids and I surprised Brian with a "fancy" lunch at "his favourite" (not at all his favourite, but the kids favourite) restaurant, Boston Pizza. It was nice to sit. We finished the day off at the science Centre, and it was SO FUN!
So many interactive things going on, the kids loved the freedom of running around exploring everything together. My heart was so full.
We had such great day with Brian home. It was kinda fun that it was mid-week and as always, I love having my sidekick beside me.
This past week my sister and I met up at a new park that we heard about and it was so fun!! Penny, of course, was alllll over her cousin Maverick.
This park was unlike any other we have explored. Check out how cool this park is!
For the last week of summer holidays we have things planned nearly every day, including their adorable back to school photos which I cant wait to take!
