Grandma Reed is Ninety!
We kicked it off on Friday evening with a little birthday party for her. So much work went into planning this. There were formal invitations, an amazing meal and a beautiful cake. Family flew in from Vegas and California and British Columbia. It really was such an amazing weekend.
The room was filled with special things of Grandma's and we were reminded of her many talents.
Brian's Aunt Joanne coordinated this fun blanket for Grandma from the family, I think it turned out great!
All of grandma's Great-Grandchildren sang the song "My Heavenly Father Loves Me". We have been practising this song with our kids for a couple of months and to be honest, our three didn't sing very loud BUT they did open their mouths and stepped out of their comfort zone and I melted watching them all.
The evening was FULL of entertainment and visiting and it truly was wonderful! The best part was seeing Grandma overjoyed in so many moments. Her smiles really lit up the entire room!
Before we went home, there was a room filled with special little tokens that belonged to Brian's Grandparents. IT WAS SO COOL TO SEE EVERYTHING!! Check out how Handsome Grandpa Reed was in his college yearbook. He's the second stud from the right on the top row (not including the page on the right)
Before we left the kids all had a blast burning off the very last bit of energy chasing around grandpa's drone.
Saturday evening we were invited out to a house just west of the city. Brian's uncle is friends with the owner and the owner was so generous to let our big family come and play in his yard and visit one last time before everyone goes back home. We had so much fun! We played on the play structure.
We ate Pizza and visited and we played in the pool.
It was a great evening with tons of great company but more than anything else, it was a wonderful, busy weekend celebrating the one lady we truly look up to so much. Grandma Reed is one lady FULL of love. She is so talented and her family means everything to her. I admire the woman that she is. I am grateful that I know her, that I have become one of her Grandchildren too and that she always has treated me like her very own. Happy 90th Birthday Grandma Reed, we love you more than you'll ever know!
