Christmas 2017

This has been one of my favourite Christmases! It didn't feel rushed, we felt so loved, the kids were spoiled and the spirit was strong! I absolutely LOVED that Christmas day landed on a Monday. That gave Brian a couple of days to be home with us before Christmas which was so nice. The one thing that I fail at every year is pictures on Christmas eve and Christmas Day. I want to just be present. In the moment like everybody else so the picture taking gets set aside which makes for very bland Christmas day photos BUT very awesome memories so that will have to do!

Christmas Eve this year was on a Sunday so we went to church from 9-10 and enjoyed every single moment of it. The spirit was so strong and the special musical numbers brought me to tears. It really was such a perfect service. That afternoon and evening was spent with Brian's side of the Family. It was so nice to be together. The kids acted out the nativity.. twice and looked as cute as ever!

After the Nativity the kids went downstairs and cuddled up on the couch watching a couple of Classic Christmas shows. Surprisingly they all sat there so nice.

We had a WONDERFUL dinner that Mom and Dad Reed made, opened a bunch of gifts and were all spoiled rotten. We left that evening with full tummies and feeling beyond loved.

When we got home we helped the kids into their Christmas Pajamas and then read them the story "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (one of my favourites!)

We were having a slumber party in our room that night (mostly to avoid anyone waking up and rushing out to the tree at 4am) so they all curled up into the little cots and fell asleep watching the Polar Express.

Of course, Cookies (and reindeer treats from Carter!) were left out for Santa and I guess you could say that Operation Santa Claus was a success!

We woke up throughout the night a few times putting tiny toes back into their beds but all in all it was a good night. The kids were up and ready for Christmas morning at 6:40am. Gifts were opened and wrapping paper and boxes filled our bonus room. They played non stop with their new things until it was time to head over to my parents house around 2 where they were spoiled again. Carter and Bentley literally played BeyBlades (the gift Carter was BEGGING us for but didn't get on Christmas morning because I knew my mom had bought it already). They honestly played downstairs for 6 hours straight and only came up for dinner and dessert. They never fought once and Brian and I were in heaven with the freedom we had to hang out with everyone else. What a blissful day!

Dinner was amazing too. My parents put a lot of effort into their Christmas dinner and always decorate the table with fun surprises for everyone.

The only thing that would have made the house and our heart a little more full would have been to have my other sister and her family here too but truly it was a wonderful Christmas with our family.

This year mom got the little ones ALL matching Christmas Jammies and oh my gosh... they looked ADORABLE in them so our annual Christmas Jammie picture for the grandkids continued and I think this picture is a GREAT reminder of how lucky we are to have such a great gene pool ;)

As for George.. he finished off Christmas Day by getting his hair done. Ha! I secretly cant believe he let her.. but he did and she felt like he looked quite "beautiful" after lol Merry Christmas everyone!
