The Pumpkin Patch

There are so many times in parenting that I just feel inadequate. I feel like Im not good enough, Im too tired, there is too much to do and not enough time. The kids are overtired and not listening and I have zipped the same coat three times over. Shoes go on backwards and your little three year old won't let you help her with her carseat belt. So many sighs and so many distractions. And then we have those days that just seem bright. They work out perfectly, the kids behave, you don't feel tired and you cant stop kissing them. Those are the days that make the difficult task of parenting so worth every single minute. This past weekend was just that. We took the kids to the Pumpkin patch at the corn maze, its our yearly fall tradition and this year is was special. We were able to go all together as a family. The kids were all so nice to each other. No fighting (which is a miracle these day) We truly had a BLAST together.

I sure they went on each slide at least 20 times. They were filthy and tired when we left and it was another huge success!

We finished off the morning there buying one massive pumpkin and one hideous one (Every pumpkin needs a home right?!) and the kids each decorated their own little mini pumpkin.

Its moments and days like these when things seem seamless and easy that I soak up and cherish every second of them. Our children often remind me that my divine calling of being mother is truly the greatest blessing in the world. We love you so much Carter, Bentley and Penny. We love spending special times like this past weekend together as a family. We know, and are often reminded, that you will grow fast and that these days are special. We are lucky to have you.
