Zoo Trip

I LOVE the Zoo. I love seeing all the animals and especially the animals that you do not find in Canada. However, this past week I was softly reminded why we do not have annual Zoo passes and why we only go once every year or two. I don't know what it is about the zoo but my kids just find it kinda boring.













This past week we checked another thing off of our summer bucket list. Carter added the zoo to the list and truthfully I think I will skip it next year. It was a really hot day so the animals were not active really at all. Carter, bless his heart, had a great attitude even though he was kinda bored, he tried to enjoying it and was interested in looking at the animals for 30 seconds each.





Bentley was more interested in the statues and felt like he needed a picture with them. He tried too to enjoy it while it lasted.









Penny on the other hand, was hot and cranky. I decided to bring the stroller with us, mostly to carry our snacks, drinks and camera (we haven't used the strolled in so long) but I think Penny was extra excited to hide in the stroller the whole time. So although she wasn't really interested in seeing much, she didn't need to be carried round (Thank HEAVENS we had the stroller!)



The Penguins are always all of our favourite part.







The zoo part is also amazing!





The new Lemur exhibit was open as well and it was pretty fun! It's called walking with Lemurs because they really aren't in a "cage" but rather you can go straight to them and be with them. The concept was so so fun and the line up was huge but we waited patiently and Penny can always make standing in line fun!



Unfortunately, the Lemurs were all snuggled up so we really weren't close to them at all that day, but fun nonetheless!





Im happy we went and I think the kids are too but it is good that it is a once a year or once every other year activity for now.

The weather here has been so hot! We are not used to this much heat and so little rain, our grass is trying to hang on for dear life and patches of it are dying and it is hard to plan activities with the kids when you know its going to be sweltering outside. Somedays I am so incredible thankful that my kids wake up early so we can enjoy the day bright and early in the morning before it gets too hot! Yesterday, we went for an early morning bike ride and it was so much fun! Its especially fun because both boys are on two wheeler bikes and can go nice and fast! Penny was happy to sit in our trailer with her baby doll (of course!) and it was a perfect little activity yesterday morning!
