New Years 2016!

Well, the holidays are over and now its back to reality. To be honest, I thought for sure I would be ready for Carter to back to school, for us to get back into reality and for life to resume but I am not even close to wanting that. I have enjoyed every moment of Carter being home from school, Brian having the week off and just spending time in our home relaxing and being together.

We went sledding with cousins so many times and swimming too!

We slept in, watched movies, had WAY TOO MANY treats (if thats even possible) and we truly just enjoyed every moment we had together spending it as a family!

We Did New Years eve a little different this year. We celebrated New Years Eve with the kids on December 30th. We sat down with them in the afternoon and filled in these cute little "Year in Review" with them.

Then we got right into the celebrations of a kids New Years Eve! We made a glow in the dark pizza dinner.

Followed by a little desert complete with Ring pops to "Ring in 2017" and sugar cookies on top of Champainge flutes filled with Milk.

We did a fun little countdown and they made a TON of noise and finished off the night with a glow in the dark bath.

We did new years eve one day early with the kids for a couple of reasons. The first one speaks for itself.. New Years Eve this year was a saturday night.. with 9am church the next day... I did not want overtired cranky kids at church. And the second is because this year NYE with our friends was being celebrated at our place and I wanted our kids to be sleeping for that and it only seemed fair to still let them celebrate their own little thing.

New Years Eve with our friends was fun. Its rare (in fact it never happens) when we get to all hang out without our kids running around us. Between us all there are 10 kids ages 8 and under and 2 more on the way this coming year. We are all in the same crazy phase of life. It was such a fun evening though and the tradition of ringing in the new year with them was really fun! Thanks guys for coming over!

Carter, Bentley and Penny mean everything to me. They are our world. We are so excited to see what this next year holds for our 3 little amigos.

I know what my new years resolution is this year. Ive thought long and hard about it and mentally tried to prepare myself for it so I don't give up on it after the first month (lets be honest, thats what usually happens with new years resolutions right!?) But this year, I am turning 30. Our family is complete and this year, I want to focus on myself. I am dealing with my mental health issues. I have spoken to my family doctor who has me set up to see a specialist. I am going to go to the gym at least once a week to try to get those endorphins going and my mom and I signed up for a Yoga class starting on January 18th. This year, I need to focus on myself. Its a big year! We both turn 30, its our 10 year wedding anniversary and we have a big trip planned this summer. Its an exciting one and I cannot let my mental health take over. It needs to get fixed.. NOW and I finally feel like I am ready to deal with my demons.

So, 2017... Bring it on! Because I would do ANYTHING for these three little sweethearts!
