Kindergarten GRAD!
We started beginning of the school year not knowing if we should be sending Carter to Kindergarten this year or next because his birthday is in November, we had the choice. We went back and forth a few times but finally decided it was the right thing to do and I am so glad we did! He met a bunch of new friends who all live within 5 minutes of us and his latest report card was AMAZING!! I mean, I know I shouldn't brag but it was great! He is so excited to go into grade one. He's excited to buy a lunch box and stay the day, he's excited for recess and seeing all his friends again and he is super excited for gym class to start again!
He really is a character. It wouldn't have been a true start to the year though if Carter didn't test his boundaries. His teacher approached me only a couple of times over his kindergarten year.. nothing too serious.. just more of "playing too much" or "not paying attention" and most recently "running in the classroom.. thinking it was funny". That last one doesn't surprise me.. that boy runs EVERYWHERE.. it is exhausting.. believe me, I know.
His teacher though.. Ms. Huxtable... nothing can beat her! She was an incredible teacher and we are so lucky we had her to open up the next 12 years of grade school. He was tough and loving. Kind and stern. What I loved best was she worked with me and Brian as a team. When he was naughty.. we would catch it right away. When he did good things she would always tell us. She always said how big of a heart Carter has and how much she was happy he was in her class.. even if she did go home and have a couple glasses of wine because of his persistent button pushing some days. All in all, she was amazing! Thank you Ms. Huxtable for all your hard work and patience!
Carter also loved her so much. He was so excited to give this little mug and chapters gift card to her on the last day of school.
On June 17th, Carter had his final kindergarten assembly! All the kids were SO CUTE! The moment they started singing "Oh Canada" .. I started tearing up. Of course.
Carter did good! He sang his songs and was proud that Brian and I were there. The best part for me was him looking over and blowing us kissing and waiving at us constantly. SOOOOO CUTE and guarnteed not to last much longer so Ill soak it in while I can! I love that little boy!!
After his assembly, we took him home but not before we took some fun pictures just the three of us! Im so glad we did this because the last day of school was a little crazy and we wouldn't have been able to.

July 1st was Brian's 29th birthday! It was different for us than all of his other birthdays have been. It was low key but it was good. I thank the heavens above for this amazing man of mine. I am thankful for every day I have with him! We really are so blessed.
This year, Carter and Bentley REALLY wanted their daddy to have a "StarWars Party" .. and although his birthday was pretty relaxed, a little decorations never hurt anyone! So we did it! The boys were ECSTATIC! Almost like it was their birthday lol
We even went and got him a StarWars ice cream cake from DairyQueen .. but would you believe they spelt "Jedi" wrong and then tried to rub it in and start over. HAHA good thing it was for my 29 year old man and not my 5 year old boy... the expectation level is a little different for kids with cakes!
We had Brians parents over for Dinner that night which was great!
We love you so so much Brian and wouldn't know what to do without you. Happy birthday sweetheart, you are our everything!
