Father's Day!
Father's Day is always busy. It means waking up early with the kids and being as quiet as possible (which is never very quiet) so we don't wake up Daddy. This Father's Day, I got up with the kids and set up everything that was bought and made just for Brian.
Once it was all set up, I told the boys to quietly and nicely go wake up Daddy! They were beyond excited and told him that there was a surprise ready for him downstairs! The moment he came downstairs, Bentley could not contain his excitement and yelled out "DAD!!!! WE GOT YOU MOTORCYCLE GLOVES!!!!!!" the moment Brian saw the gift wrapped on the table haha. He couldn't wait any longer to tell him! We all burst out laughing.. even Bentley.
We had breakfast set out.. just a small one because we were headed to my parents house for brunch before church so we didn't want to be too full but we added some of Brian's Fav. Fresh raspberries, hash browns and a mango, raspberry smoothy!
Then we got ready and headed over to my parents house for brunch! It was so yummy and the company was even better! We wished my Dad a Happy Fathers day and my heart was full for this incredible man.
It was three years ago I asked him to adopt me and I do not regret it for a second. This man stepped up to the plate. He didn't have to. He didn't have to teach me to ride with no training wheels, but he did. He didn't have to drive me to school and pick me up late from dance, but he did. He didn't have to fall in love with my mom and take on the responsibility of two extra little girls, but he did. He did it all. He taught me to be strong. He taught me about life's choices and admitting your shortfalls and mistakes. He is my Dad. He walked me up the aisle and shared my Father Daughter dance with me at my graduation and my wedding. He gave my hand to the man of my dream and told me that I would always be his little girl. We have shared so many laughs and tears. He has picked me up when I have been down and I have washed his toilets just because he can't stand to! We make a pretty good team and I am so proud to call him Dad. Thank you Dad for being the man you are. I love you.
And as much as all these little crazies drive him crazy, stress him out and he often runs and hides for some quiet time.. he really is a class A granddad, and this is only a handful of them!
Next we went to church and when that was over we headed over to Brian's Dad's house. There are not enough words for this kind, loving and gentle Father in law of mine. He has such a level head which we LOVE! He is so kind and soft spoken.. even when our children are not listening (which seems to be quite often these days!) He is patient and really is so "Hands on" with all of his grandkids which is one of my most favourite qualities of him. I love that he was such a great example raising Brian. Because of him, Brain loves me with respect. I adore this Father in law of mine. He has always supported us, and given us advice when its needed. He laughs with us, come to just hang out with us and even shares so many of the same hobbies as we do.. it is awesome! So heres to a wonderful Dad this Father's Day! Love you!!
Next was Grandpa Hawryluk! The kids were so excited because Grandma and Grandpa Hawryluk always have such yummy snacks and treats set out for everyone to share and they love that! There is something so special to be said about Grandpa Hawryluk, he is hard working. In fact, one of the most hard working men I know. I mean, he literally built his house from the ground up, with his own two hands.. room for room, without going into ANY debt whatsoever. That is amazing. He is the master of a Garden and can grow onions the size of your head! HIs passion for his family is beyond compare and his hugs are THE BEST OF THE BEST! I love you so much Grandpa Hawryluk! Happy Father's Day!
To end off our Father's Day, we went to visit a wonderful woman who has acted as Grandma and Grandpa for the past few years. Grandma Reed. She has so much of my heart. I love her so much! Our children are ALWAYS so rambunctious when we go and visit. Every. Single. Time. And Father's day was no different. In fact, the kids and I got in trouble in the hallway and when I told Grandma about it she just laughed and said she was so excited to tell her friend about it. It does not get any better than that! Grandma Reed lost her partner in crime almost three years ago and we went and reminisced with her and Grandpa. He was such an amazing Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. He too will always hold a sacred and special place in our hearts. So to our dear Grandpa Reed in Heaven, we know you are here with us. WE know you watch over us and influence us daily. We miss you. We love you more than ever. And to our Grandma Reed, you will always have us. We adore you and love every moment we get to spend time with you. You mean the world to us. Thank you for being the incredible woman you are. Love you!
We weren't able to visit my grandpa Mockler or my Grandma June because they do not live in the same city as us, but they too hold a special place in our hearts. They built incredible families that I now get to be apart of. I am eternally grateful for you. For your hard work and sacrifice to create this family. For the late nights and early mornings. I cherish every visit we do get to have and an anxious to see you again. I love you guys!
And last but certainly not least. To Brian.
Brian, sweetheart, you have no idea how proud I am to call you my Husband. To see you as our children's Daddy. To watch you in "Dad Mode" is the most attractive. I never knew 9 years ago after accepting your proposal that we would end us here 9 years later, 3 incredible children and a degree later that I would be so much more in love with you. I didn't think it was ever possible, but I am. Brian, the amount of things that you sacrifice for our family is amazing. Our hearts are full. The love the children have for you is undeniable. They adore you. Everything about you. Thank you for taking care of us. You are honestly THE BEST! I love you so much Brian Reed.
