The thing is..
Some things need to be documented and the thing is.. this is one of those things. Three Kids is H.A.R.D. Maybe three kids four and under is hard.. or maybe its just my kids or maybe its just me... it's probably all of the above actually but lets just be honest here.. my heart is full, and so are my hands.
I honestly wouldn't trade it for anything in this world and I know what a blessing it is to have children and realistically, my kiddoes are pretty great BUT man am I exhausted. You always assume its the baby keeping a mother up at night... no one ever mentions that the baby sleeps great but my two year old is having night terrors and wakes up in complete hysterics almost every night. People forget to mention that kids really are little dictators. They tell you what they want and how they want it done, to look like and in what order... if you fail at any of those, they scream and cry about how your not listening. Wow. Just Wow.
There are some things about kids that are in their blood. Like no matter how many times you tell them.. please don't step in the mud or in that huge tempting puddle with your nice shoes on.. they do it anyways. Like they can't control their little desires. Im like that too with Chocolate in my sights I guess.
No one ever tells you that sometimes you will be so frustrated with your kids, that you will sit down and cry... and fell like the worst parent in the world.
People also forget to mention that no matter how calm you are, your kids will probably push every single button you have and you will yell. Urg, Im working on this. Three kids is hard. Carter is in such a creative stage.. wanting to know "WHY?" about everything, Bentley is still my cuddly little guy who wants to snuggle and be held ALL THE TIME and him and Penny have that in common because she wants to be held all of the time too. I need another arm.
They weren't kidding when they said that with three kids you are outnumbered. Yup, very very true. There is only one of me in the day and they are very slowly learning to share my time.
The great thing is that God gave us these specific children because we are all they need. We have the specific talents they will learn from and I thank my Heavenly Father every day for these sweet little souls that bless my life and throughout our every day "Please just make it out alive" kind of days we still have some insane melt downs and seriously funny shenanigans that make it all worth while.

Bentley said he was playing with Penny.. she didn't seem to mind that he was totally sitting on her and he really doesn't weigh THAT much.. but I did ask him to sit beside her lol He also wanted to "Make Milk A Penny" although found it very unsuccessful and was frustrated.

We play hard and try our best to get these kids to sleep GREAT.. but sometimes the nights are exhausting and the day time "cat naps" in the seriously weird spots and positions is what it all comes down to.

I cannot believe that in only a few days my sweet little Penny will be Four months old. She is the happiest baby if you are holding her, playing with her or just giving her your complete attention.. of course! Penny also rolled from her back to her belly today (Jan. 27th) which means that she can roll from back to belly and belly to back now! Way to go Penny Girl!

I really do feel complete. This past weekend, we took the boys down to fish creek to ride their bikes since the weather has been so nice. The beginning part of the path was full of snow but then the boys found a huge puddle and this is where our walk stopped and we were ok with that.

I love what good friends they are. Bentley will do EVERYTHING that Carter does. Even if its naughty.

Penny watched from her Carseat all snuggled up.

This past week we also took the boys to the dentist for the first time.. I know.. I know.. Carter's four and should have gone earlier.. but, life is busy and we're doing the best we can. Both Bentley and Carter were nervous but Bentley was brave and took the chair first.

She checked his teeth out and his mouth looked great. No cavities. He does have a little brown spot on his right front tooth that he has had since the tooth came in and I asked her about it. She asked me if I was sick during my pregnancy.. Of course I was, I puked for 9 months straight... she went on to say that at a certain point in pregnancy that can happen if mom is really sick. Interesting... I was so much more sick with Penny.. I hope her teeth turn out ok lol.

Next was Carter's turn.. he was a nervous wreck but more brave after seeing Bentley go. He too did great, and also has no cavities.

What a relief! Carter does have a dead tooth though. His front left. He smacked it on our bed frame (while jumping on the bed) in December but she took a good look at it and said that its not an issue. She took some x-rays of it to make sure the root looked good and it was.

She finished up with Carter and they each got a goodie bag with a new tooth brush, some floss and a sticker. They also got to pick from the little surprise drawer and they gave them each a sucker. While the boys and I waited in the living room for Brian to get his x-rays done (I was holding their treat bags) Carter flat out shouts at me and says "MOM! Give me my 'liquor' (Meaning his "licker".. trying to refer to his sucker that the dentist just gave him) I didn't clue in so I responded with "pardon me?" and he said again.. loud and in front of everyone.. "give me my liquor please!!" I burst out into a semi-silent laugh and said "you mean your sucker?" and he said "oh yah, my sucker please" hahaha so funny.
So yes, while having three kids is exhausting, sometimes frustrating and a countdown to bedtime is a serious thing I think about every single day, I feel so blessed and so lucky to have them.
Heres to another week of just trying to make it ;)
