NYE 2014

A New Year, a fresh start. I say this every year. New Years for me is equivalent to "spring cleaning" in my books. Its a fresh start and making new years resolutions is mostly lame because do we really ever keep them going past January, but I still try. This year, I want to stop (or maybe being more realistic) stop yelling AS MUCH at my crazy children. Yes, I am a mom who yells sometimes... not something I like doing but sometimes it really feels like they only listen if I raise my voice but I really dont want to be the Mom who is a huge spazz over little things.. so Im going to try to take it down a notch!

Also this year.. I want to change my way of thinking to realize that kids take A LONG TIME. With everything. They are slow to get ready to leave the house.. slow to walk to the car.. slow to get into their car seat.. slow to eat dinner.. unless it involves being destructive or eating candy.. they are slow. My goal is to realize this more often, to take our time and realize that if we get in the car 3 minutes late, its not the end of the world.

So there they are.. my confessions and my new years resolutions.

To ring in the New year, we had friends over. Lots of our friends are sick this year so it was really a much smaller group. We first had the kids celebrate new years!









They had dinosaure chicken nuggets and veggies for dinner and lets not forget the "Chocolate Milk Shots" - so cute! I just dipped the rim in white chocolate and sprinkles.



All the girlies were dressed so so cute! Penny let out a few good cries throughout the night and wasn't sure about taking this picture and we sure missed baby Holly.





We counted in the New Year with the kids at 7:30.





...and then forced them to take a cute group picture.



Within the next hour we had all the big kids in bed and sleeping and just these three little cuties were awake.



We spent the rest of the evening playing games and rang in the new year together. I completely forgot to bring out our sparkling beverage, darn it, and because we are all parents with young kids who we just knew would be up in 7 hours, everyone headed out and we were in bed by 12:20am. Well, except for Penny .. she made me stay up and "party" with her until 1am.

It was a good time, and so nice that the kids went to sleep and let us all relax and play a game and really just be adults. Happy New year to everyone! I am excited to see what 2015 holds for our little family. It will be only as good as we make it, so let's make it good!
