Penny's 3rd week Checkup

It seems hard to believe that our baby girl is already 3 weeks (almost 4 weeks!) old. Why cant pregnancy go as fast as the newborn stage. I LOVE the newborn stage. I love the tiny little cries and the sweet little sounds they make. I love that when you pick them up they curl in their legs and stick out their bum. I love it all.

I am beyond exhausted this time around however. Honestly, I had a girl comment on how I must be tired because my eyes are completely blood-shot. Ha! The boys are super busy as always and Penny is just like any newborn... awake throughout the night, needing to cuddle or nurse and I am trying to hold it together as a mama of three.

Penny is totally a cuddly baby and especially at night when everyone else in the house is asleep and she gets me all to herself. She seems to sleep so much better if she is in our bed, practically breathing on me. As long as she's close, she will sleep pretty good! But lately our queen size bed is seeming a lot smaller.



Brian and I don't really get a "good night sleep" because we are both worried to roll over or even move for that matter when Penny is in our bed so we don't really get into a deep sleep. How could such a teeny tiny body take up so much room?!



Although, im really not sure Id have it any other way. I mean, they are only newborns for the smallest amount of time and before we know it she will be in her own room in her crib and Ill miss these sweet moments with her little body pressed up to mine sound asleep, so close. I am such a lucky mama!

She is also a pretty easy going baby. She seems to be a little bit like each of her brothers. Carter cried SO MUCH when he was a newborn and Bentley never cried and as for Penny.. she is right in the middle of them both. She for sure knows how to use her lungs but its not all the time.

We had Penny's three week checkup a couple of days ago and she is now 9 lbs 4 oz. Growing like crazy, but still feeling small to me. Perfect!



Dr. Ward was happy with how everything was going and said Penny's doing great. Interesting, we didn't have a three week check up for Carter because he was with a different doctor who I guess didn't do them but Bentley had a three week checkup and at his 3 week appointment, he weighed 10 lbs 4 oz. A whole pound more than Penny right now.



I am feeling totally complete. Penny is such a joy and really a little treasure to have in our home. She brings us all so much happiness. She has the chubbiest, loveliest cheeks.. they are to die for and I am constantly kissing them!
