First day of Preschool!

I have been so excited to write this post and brag about how cute our little Carter is! I registered Carter for Preschool at the end of spring and have been anticipating it since! I was REALLY hoping he would transition well into preschool since his time in nursery and primary (at church) have been a HUGE adjustment and years of crying and freaking out until only recently. We tried to prepare him as best as we could for preschool and so far... SO GOOD!! He LOVES it!



Tuesday was just a one hour orientation. Parents were invited to stay for a little bit and then leave and it was only an hour long. I chose not to stay long at all in the class and left to sit in the hallway for the hour going over all the forms and guidelines for the school. I told Carter I would be back to pick him up in a bit and he seemed totally fine with that. He gave me a hug and a kiss and said "bye bye Mommy" ... and then I left.





His first "day" went great! He met his teacher... "Mrs. Priarrow" and the assistant "Mrs. Otto" and we taught him to say "Hello my name is Carter.. what is your name?" so he could introduce himself to other kids. When the hour was up, the teacher opened up the red room door (that's his classroom) and he came rushing into my arms so so excited to tell me that he LOVED IT! He showed me a little owl craft that he made and told me that he was aloud to play with EVERYTHING on the first day. He was so excited to go back.









Today was his first full day of preschool (1:30pm-3:30pm). I dropped him off at his classroom and as soon as the door was opened and they were aloud to go in, he said goodbye to me and RAN in! This makes me so so excited! I LOVE that so far its been such a great and easy transition for him. What a relief!



I think Bentley was a bit confused as to why we were leaving Carter because when we got back in the car, to kept hitting Carter's carseat saying "JUAN" frantically lol (FYI.... Bentley says "Juan" for EVERYTHING!!! It's cute the first time you hear it, but then.... well you know, everything is "Juan" so its kind of a guessing game most of the time lol) I explained to Bentley that Carter was going to school and that we would be back to pick him up soon. He was SILENT... and totally looking confused by the situation. He really is going to miss his big brother I think.

Bentley and I had a couple of hours all to ourselves so we went down the hill shopping and got him, Carter and little Baby each a halloween shirt, and little miss a warm winter "snow suit". Then we headed over to pet land where Bentley was in HEAVEN! Mostly he LOVED the fish. He was obsessed with the fish!! "Morn fish, morn Fish" ("more fish) he loved it. we stopped at the grocery store to grab a couple of things before heading back to pick up Carter and Bentley was so excited to give Carter a package of fruit snacks that he picked out at the store for him. It was really cute. I love having this special little time with just Bentley before the baby comes. I cherished the moments that Carter and I had just us before Bentley came and feel really lucky that I'll get a few hours a week to just hang out with Bentley before our little miss arrives. Carter has preschool every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30-3:10pm.

We got to Carter's classroom 5 minutes early and waited for the door to open. This time, he wasn't waiting by the door but rather his teacher had to call him over to let him know we were back for him. He ran to me and the first thing he said was "I LOVE MRS. PRIARROW!" oh my gosh, how cute!! He ran back to her and said thank you, she responded with "Ok Carter, Ill see you in 5 sleeps" and he had the biggest grin on his face. What a cutie!!

He showed me this super cute craft that he made with his class and was so excited that they got to use paint!

I asked his teacher if he is doing ok and she told me that he's doing good but REALLY REALLY quiet... WHAT?!?! Are we talking about the same kid here?? Im sure he will "open up" in no time!

When we got into the car I asked him what they did today and he went on and on! They played, read stories, had music time, played in the sandbox, made a craft.. the list went on. When I asked him if he met any friends he said "I don't know any of them names" lol

I could not be more proud of Carter! He is so brave and courageous and seriously such a champ! And thank you for that buddy because this mommy is REALLY loving this little tiny break with no worries because I know you're loving preschool.
