Disaster Zone!

It started last last Friday afternoon. A complete disaster! Bentley had a weird cough a few days prior.. then Carter got it... no big deal right?! So you would think, then it turned into a real deep chest cough.. and then... THE MOST ANNOYING THING!! Both boys on Friday night got an eye infection (AKA: PINKEYE!) I freaked out as soon as I noticed... and by bedtime it was a complete disaster!!! Poor Carter was TERRIFIED of his eye and me begging him not to touch it was probably freaking him out even more. So he stayed up scrapbooking with me until midnight, because I didn't want him to cry.. those tears are CONTAGIOUS! Seriously it was bad.. look...



His left eye was SO BAD because he would NOT stop rubbing it with a little blanket. Bentley was pretty good about not touching his eye but still had a rough night. So first thing last Saturday morning, we took both boys to our eye doctor where he confirmed that their virus had gone into their eyes.. and yes.. pinkeye. I HATE pinkeye more than anything! I never ever had it growing up and Brian and I only had it once almost two years ago when we attended our nephews birthday party and another mom brought her son with pinkeye... it is insanely contagious!

Right after the eye doctor, we took them to a walk in clinic to sort out their coughs.... the doctor looked at both of them and listened to their chests and just said it was only a virus, there was nothing we could do other than give it time. What a pain.

Then the disinfecting began!! Every inch of my house.. practically following the boys around and disinfecting everything they touch (and toddlers touch EVERYTHING!!) We closed our bedroom door, the baby's bedroom door and their playroom downstairs.. and explained that they were not aloud to go in any of them. (How mean are we!!) Washing both their bedding every nap time and every morning.. and the worst of it all... doing eye drops 8 (Yes, EIGHT!) times a day! I felt so so bad holding them down by practically sitting on them and prying open their little eyes to put in the drops while they (mostly Carter) screamed. It was HORRIBLE!

But throughout it all, they still were able to smile a little!





So the boys and I have stayed inside from Saturday until Wednesday diligently washing, disinfecting and going completely stir crazy! I am SO glad its over and that Brian and I did not get it! We did manage to make some yummy cookies to help brighten our day...





And such a yummy smoothie that Bentley was IN LOVE with....

And then to top off our INSANELY annoying and boring 5 days... this baby of ours took my breath away when she decided to flip and go side to side... head my right hip and feet on my left hip... KILL ME! I was in so much pain I cannot even explain it! And I looked like a total freak show! lol



I felt like I was crippled trying to chase after two crazy sick boys and after a few hours, when Brian got home from work, I was nearly in tears. Brian suggested I do a headstand. I did, with his help of course, and it seemed to put her back into place within 20 seconds. My stomach looked normal again and the extreme pressure was off of my back and my hips but my hips were still sore. I REALLY hope this never happens again. That was extremely uncomfortable!

I am so glad the past week is over and hopefully we have a much more exciting weekend with so much less sickness floating around us!
