New Years Resolution.

Over the past few years, I have come to love "New Years" more and more. I know it's so cleache but for me, it really is a fresh start! I LOVE making new years resolutions... even if I don't finish them always. Its a little extra motivation during any other time of the year and Ill take any kind of motivation that I can get! This year, I have made a few different resolutions.... ambitious right!? But with each and every one of them I am not expecting to be able to do them all 100%.. but this year I am going to try to do better with each of these goals. For me, its silly to say Im going to change completely when the clock strikes midnight but I am going to do better and thats the goal!

First I have some church ones that I want to strive to be better at.. like Family Home Evening every monday night... its always a hit or miss in our home each week. I want to pray more with our kids.. like a formal family prayer every day with them.. I want to read my scriptures more and finish the entire book of mormon by this time next year. We've done it before and it was awesome so we can try to do it again.

Secondly, there are a few things in my life that I can TOTALLY improve on. Things that have become such second nature and Im so desensitized to it that I hardly notice it even happening. I need to have more self confidence and stop caring about my every wrinkle, roll and baby mark on my body. This MUST happen this year.. my babies are getting older and they will start to notice "imperfections" in me if I continue to point them out! I heard a quote last week that a friend saw as a magnet on someones fridge that says "Your name is safe in our home" (or something along those lines). I wouldn't say Im a huge gossiper.. but I'm ashamed to admit that it sometimes happens. SAD! So there it is! My goals for the year! Working on them as best as I can! Of course There are so many things Id like to work on like being more patient with my boys. Why do I feel like I NEVER have the amount of patience that I want to have! I want to eat healthy and work out...

Ok so really.. Ive just listed a TON of little (HUGE) new years resolutions but thats ok! Im conscience of them and thats the first step in improving on them! Now first things first! The confession! RE: my self confidence resolution - POST BABY BODY.

Its amazing the influences of the world. "sexiest woman alive" and "how to lose 30+ pounds after the holidays" seems to be on every magazine. The world thinks skinny.. like really really skinny is so attractive. Its annoying! And I totally get caught up in the trap of it all. I think about and point out my "flaws" like most women I know. "my skin has so many wrinkles"... "look at my flab" ... "my thighs could use some work".... "is that really what my butt looks like these days" Yes, Ive said them all.. but in the back of my mind.. I really don't mind my body. Sure, I definitely don't look (not even close) like those "sexiest women in the world" gals... but Im proud of what my body can do! Three years ago my body when through a "Mommy makeover" and I carried a 8 pounds 2 oz baby to full term. How lucky was I! Then, just over a year ago I carried an 8 pounds 11 oz baby to full term. Again.. count my blessings. My tummy went from just having to worry about caring around my insides to housing a BABY! Of course it doesn't look like it used to! I have these little stretch marks that don't bother me as much as my "extra skin" I acquired during this whole baby mama process but I'm working on getting used to it.. fixing it and loving it all .. its me and my body can do amazing things and I am lucky that it can!

I am so lucky to have my two little boys... Oh how they make my life bright!

So next time I think about my extra skin or silly stretch marks... hit me and show me a picture of my handsome little men!! Next time Im self conscience of my rolls .. show me how cute these rolls are!

Oh my heck! I am in love!

I can hardly believe that Bentley is now 14 months old and walking around all over the place. I would say that he officially started fully walking at 13 months. its pretty cute! He is a total boy! He puts food in his hair at almost every meal.. can make a mean stink face and will give you the best cuddles in the world if you're lucky. He truly is such a treasure.

As for George..

 photo 20.jpg

He is... interesting. He will be 9 years old in April.. which is really like turing 63 and he still acts like a one year old pup ... he has so much energy... why must every boy in my house have an insane amount of energy!? He barks and totally plays favourites. He is not a fan of Carter at all.. but loves Bentley. Rude George! He will often nip at Carter and Carter will come running to me telling me that George tried to eat him again lol. Its so funny but probably needs to stop.

It seems crazy to me that I have a three year old! Carter has so much energy and is starting to become a serious chatter-box. He will talk and talk and talk to you.. he LOVES to ask questions.. someones really embarrassing ones like about the difference between a boy and a girl..his mind never stops. I am so completely IN LOVE with Carters imagination! Its amazing! He will play with anything and make up stories. I will often times just stop what I am doing, hide behind a corner wall and listen to his sweet little voice make up stories about anything.

This new years.. I am thankful for my little boys!! I love what good friends they have become. Of course they still have their "sibling moments" at least once a day for sure but they are also such great friends.

They get into mischief together...

They are usually sad together...

 photo 23.jpg

and when they are happy... they are REALLY happy together!

Seriously.. I look at my two boys and my amazing man and I fall in love with all three of them every single day. This year is going to be a good one.. and even if its not.. we will make the best of it, run with it and pack it in next December ready to welcome another New Year.

Now for New Years eve! This New Years eve we spent over at our Friends Matt & Kaylee's house! We did a pot luck dinner and played games! It was a blast. We brought homemade buns and little cucumber and tomato hors d'oeuvres .. they looked so yummy and the recipe seemed like it would be delious but I was not a fan! Darn it!

All our kids had a blast too! They thoroughly enjoyed the noise makers!!

My sister and her little family came too! Porter (my THREE month old nephew) stole the show when he showed up weighing almost as much as all of our toddlers! What a big guy! I love him to death!!

 photo 8.jpg

Bentley partied it up until he couldn't last any longer and at 7:45pm he was fast asleep!

 photo 9.jpg

We decided to do a little fake "midnight" countdown at 9:30 for the kids.. they LOVED IT!! Carter was too busy running as per usual but the other kids loved it lol and Carter probably thought everyone was screaming and cheering for him so it all worked out!

We all rang in the new year around the table playing cards .. stopped for a quick second to give our significant others a new years kiss and then finished the game.. Man we are getting old! lol I love all our friends so much! We are so lucky to have such an awesome group of friends who don't judge, let you rant, and that will always make you laugh. We should have gotten a full group picture but we forgot to.

 photo 12.jpg

After we rang in the new year and finished our game, we headed home. I think most of us were exhausted. lol

It was the perfect way to ring in the new year! Happy New year to all our friends and family!!

Love the Reeds!
