Christmas & Tantrums!

Christmas is in full swing at our house .. and so are the three year old tantrums... MAN! THEY ARE BAD! The last week has been seriously bad for Carter.. an all new "high" if you ask me. Maybe its the weather.. being trapped inside all day.. maybe its me and my lack of consistency with discipline... one time he will get a time out.. the next he will just get me freaking out ... Im all over the place.. Im working on it... but his mood swings are insane right now! Please tell me it's just a phase! He is so whiny and demanding! I have my work cut out for me! Maybe he's having a bad week though.. or maybe its growing pains that are getting the best of him.. I have no clue, but I wish I did so I could sympathize with his behaviour. Am I going Crazy already!? I guess Ill just keep on trying and take everyones word for it that "It will get better... three is a tricky age" I hope you all are right!

Anyways.. like I said before I got distracted with Carters's three year old drama.. Christmas is in full swing at our house!



a couple of weekends ago, I made homemade chocolates with some of my girlfriends.. we had made the fondant for a few weeks in advance and then dipped them at the end of November. They turned out pretty good for our first try and we ended up making 470 something! yum yum yum!



Then this past week, I have been making more fondant to be able to make a ton of chocolates this coming Saturday when my grandparents arrive into town for the holidays. I love this time of year!!

We set up our Christmas tree last week too.. Carter and Brian got it all out of the box..



While I set up the rest of the Christmas decorations and Bentley ate....tape.



And then.. my favourite Christmas tradition.. putting the star on the tree with Daddy!



The boys LOVED the christmas tree!



Bentley was shocked that the Christmas ornaments looked like balls in the tree and would not stop obsessing over them so we put a couple of his toy balls in the tree too.. they loved it!









In this crazy cold weather (which is so beautiful!) we have been doing lots of Christmas crafts as we have been stranded at home.. we did some painting.. a true disaster but worth every moment of it!















.. A serious disaster!



Then, I got to babysit two of my little nephews! I introduced Taytum to cheese and crackers with pickles... I love it!... He loved the idea.. and the pickles lol





And Porter.. he is still so easy to watch...





Bentley was really happy to just randomly go over and snuggle Porter every now and again..



Last Friday.. Was TERRIBLE with Carter's new attitude and so on Saturday when we woke up I wanted to start fresh... we wrote his very first letter to santa! I wrote exactly what he told me to..which makes his letter HILARIOUS! hahaha









Bentley has hit a couple more milestones too! He will now totally walk across the room no problem.. but still chooses to crawl... but if you stand him up and tell him where to go he will totally do it! He puts his hands out right in front of him and walks kind of like a zombie.. CUTE RIGHT!! He also just got his very last eye tooth! Which means that at 13 months old, Bentley now has all 16 of his teeth. Now we are just waiting for his two year old molars.. hopefully he gets a little teething break before they start coming in though! I cannot believe how fast he got all his teeth... what a little Champ! He has learned a few new words.. like ball.. balloon (which are exactly the same in his books).. wow... Uh-Oh... mama .. dada... its so fun! and he now says "Bye-Bye" as he waves and will blow you a kiss by shoving the palm of his hand onto his mouth and basically spitting and blowing on his palm. I'm in love! And lastly.. he is in his forward facing car seat! When we first put him in it he was stunned... like a "is this real life?" kind of expression...



but then in no time at all he was LOVING IT!



Now that the Christmas tree is up, crafts are in the making and trying to explain to my ever so curious three year old who santa is and what he and his elves do... I can feel the Christmas spirit. We took Carter to see the Christmas train that was a CP Rail train which came through our city all dressed in light and all Carter could say as he was only feet away from the chain-link fence between him and the train was "Carter needs to get on that Train!!!!" lol We've taken our boys to High River to see all the Nativity Sets set up, we are listening to christmas music daily and got our Christmas cards in the mail.



I love this Christmas season! Hopefully these tantrums can be a little more spaced out though!
