Bentley's First Hair cut!

Bentley's little hair has kind of gotten out of control lately.. BUT.. I want to keep it a little longer and to be honest I'm worried to cut the top short... when we cut Carter's hair for the first time, the top never came back the same.. like he has what we call "hedgehog hair" ... just pin-straight and it grows straight up! There is no point in even trying to control it when its long. So maybe, if I keep Bentley's hair a little longer, it won't do that same thing? Either way, it was time for a cut!

It was kind of spontaneous and because no one had any appointments available for us... we decided to just do it ourselves! So on Saturday November 16th, at 12 months old, Bentley got his first haircut! The "ear hair" that I love to laugh at as I pull it out over his ear and give his little ear a kiss..needed to go.

Daddy is the hair cutter in this family! He even cuts his own hair sometimes.. minus trimming the back and edges.. thats my job!

Bentley didn't really like it very much.. at all actually.. but we managed to get all his little hair (including his mullet) into this little bag to keep!

And although we really didn't cut too much off (which is exactly what I wanted) he still looks so darn cute, fresh and just perfect!

Until this happened... He was not impressed with these new hair cut photos... even though his little stink face is so funny.

I love having all these little milestones for a second time around with our second little boy. How Fun! The only thing not fun... is my poor little Carter is SO sick all of a sudden. He was totally fine all day long, we did Christmas Crafts, ran around playing tag, hide-and-go-seek, trains.. the list goes on.. but when we went to go pick up Brian from the train tonight he covered his mouth in his car seat and said "Carter's feeling sick" (he still talks in third person lol) as soon as we got home.. he puked all over the floor... and then did it again.... we sat up for dinner (he said he was sick because he was hungry) so I gave him some bread and a little bit of our dinner.. and then he proceeded to puke ALL OVER the dinner table.. while we were eating... poor guy! We cleaned it up and took him to take a bath... put clean jammies on him and let him rest on the couch. Brian had a meeting tonight so he had to leave. As soon as Bri left, Bentley had a little (HUGE) diaper explosion.. I went upstairs to sort that out and was gone for no more then 3 minutes. When I got back downstairs, Carter was sitting on the couch in a GIANT pool of puke! Washed him all up.. and the couch all while trying to keep Bentley from touching everything... put Bentley to bed and Carter had puked AGAIN all over the floor. I could not keep up but trying my best to keep him calm as I continued to clean. I made him a nice little "bed" on the floor with towels and had him watching Toy story to try to keep his mind off of being so sick.

I proceeded to start Another load of laundry. He puked again.. this time on the towels.. easy clean up but still so sad for Carter. I carried him up stairs to his bed (which I layered with towels) .. knowing the best medicine is sleep.. we did our bedtime routine, I left and went to go sit on my bed for a minute.. two minutes later.. my poor baby came down the hallway into my room with puke ALL over him... his arms reaching out to me... and said "Mommy, Carter made a big mess in my bed." I gave him a hug, changed his clothes again, changed his bedding and sent him back to bed.. this time I stayed with him and rubbed his hair until he fell asleep around 8:30. And right now at 10:00, he just woke up to puking in his bed again.. this is crazy! My poor poor baby! I hope he feels better in the morning, but I am for sure bracing myself for a terrible night ahead.

Its so hard when your kids are sick.. I just want to cuddle him. He's such a good boy.. as he was falling asleep, he whispered to me.. "I love you so much Mommy" and it made all the puke, sickness and laundry seem like nothing.. he needs me and I can make him better.. and thats all that matters. Love you Carter.
