Family Time!
We have been spending lots of time with family lately and it has been wonderful! Family dinners, Family Temple Trip...

and this past weekend, we went on a family trip to Fairmont BC. It was beautiful! I was the photographer at a wedding on Friday so Brian and I and the boys left around 7:30pm that night and headed to meet the rest of the Family in Fairmont. We arrived around 10:30pm and tried to put both boys back to bed in the playpens that mom & dad set up already in our room. My boys feel asleep on the car ride to Fairmont and they both are not very easy movers from the car once they are sleeping. Plus as soon as they noticed they were not being moved into their own beds they began to cry.. then began to party... we left them alone and waited it out. They continued to party together.. Carter hanging out in Bentley's playpen.. squishing their faces together in the side mesh of the playpen.. there was no sleeping going on.. but at least their best friends right!?
When Brian and I crawled into bed late that night (we were all sharing one bedroom) we tried to just quietly walk past both boys and crawl into our bed... but that did not work. Within two minutes of being in the room, both boys were in the bed with us. Bentley was in HEAVEN. He cuddled me all night long.. turned right in towards me and would softly touch my face every now and again... Id be lying if I said I didn't enjoy every single minute of that night. Carter on the other hand... who is not a cuddlier... was over sharing a bed within 10 minutes and got back into his playpen and went to sleep for the night! We all woke up that morning, ready to go!

Saturday was a day of adventure! We played at the park!

Hung around enjoying each other company...

(Carter was on cloud 9 that we were on an adventure with Uncle Steven for the weekend lol)
We first tried to hike up to the natural hot springs, and we made it a little ways up, enough to see the hot water slowly running down the hill..

It was beautiful but it was also hard to appreciate it much because the wasps were INSANE! Yes, seriously... wasps were EVERYWHERE.. landing right on all of us, one went down the collar of Dad's shirt and stung him.. it was crazy to say the least! So that little adventure was over pretty quickly. We then took a little walk around the Fairmont Hot Springs.

Still the wasps were crazy! Mom told us stories of when she was a little girl camping there right by the hot springs and all the fun stuff they used to do there as kids.

Bentley had the best seat on the walk for sure! Thanks Uncle Jarren!

My favourite part of the weekend, was the swimming. We spent the afternoon at our resort's swimming pool and it was awesome!

Carter had a BLAST!

Bentley got in the water too, but didn't really appreciate the temperature of the cold.. but he was a good sport about it!

Marsden was brave enough to go down the huge water slide all by himself! Good for you Buddy! But I think he was a little shocked at the freezing cold "hose water" at the bottom. lol

And even though poor Sawyer's little arm was broken, it didn't cramp her style in the pool! She was LOVING IT!

We all had such a fun time enjoying each others company!

Its fun for me to think of what my life will be like when my kids grow up and have a family of their own. I saw Mom & Dad sitting like this on Saturday and just had to snap a picture without them knowing...

It must be such a beautiful sight to see your family, kids and grandkids, playing and knowing such happiness as you share those moments together. Love you two!
Saturday night was much better. The kids were exhausted. We put them to bed just before 8pm and they each went straight to sleep in their own playpens. When Brian and I crawled into bed that night they didn't notice a thing and we all slept straight through till morning. It was good! We all packed up, checked out and headed to church in Fairmont but not before we got our traditional family photo in front of the resort!

We drove home after church on Sunday and went straight to my mom & dads house where they hosted a family dinner for everyone. It was good but I was beyond tired, and in desperate need of some "me" time. My two little boys had worn me out and I was feeling a little bit at the "end" of my patience by the end of dinner. I was excited to get home. My Grandma June was in town and bought the boys some really cute jammies so after dinner, I bathed them, and put them in their new jammies for the night. Thanks Grandma June!

Our Labour Day long weekend was great! Busy! And a ton of fun memories were made. I think by Monday night, we were all just exhausted and needing to have a good sleep. We put the boys to bed around 7pm last night and although Bentley went straight to sleep Carter kept getting out of bed with the craziest excuses... "I need some water", " I want to brush my teeth again", "Its too dark", "I'm scared", "I need my Rosie Train" (seriously, the list goes on) ... after a half an hour, it was Brian's turn.. Bri stayed with him and talked to him about how it was bedtime and the things he needed to do could be done in the morning now. Finally, we could hear nothing.. he was asleep. It was so nice to have some us time.. to cuddle up on the couch and watch a show... RELAXING. Ahh... release :) When we headed upstairs to call it a night look who we found sleeping in OUR bed...

he was on my side, using my blankie and pillow. He was so cute I did not want to move him, but we did. Even if you two crazy boys do wear me out, use all my patience and sometimes drive me crazy.. its moments like these that I forget all of that and soak in all your cuteness! I love you Carter & Bentley.. and Brian! You boys are my life!
