Grandma is on Vacation!

I love being a mother. It brings me so much Joy. More than I ever could put into words. I adore having two boys to enjoy this crazy life with. I love seeing the happiness in their eyes when they are excited... and these days.. its not too hard to make them happy... as long as trains are around at least! So since Grandma (My mom) is on holidays for the week, we thought it would be fun to take the boys to heritage park! This time, I bought us annual park passes which I am so excited about. I can foresee A LOT of train rides this summer for us! The weather was BEAUTIFUL! A little windy, but no rain! It was perfect!

We tried to take Carter on a couple of little rides... but this time, he wasn't as brave as he was when his big friend Lincoln was around. I went on this one with Carter...

But as soon as it started he started really getting worried that it was going "TOOOO FAST, TOOOO FAST" and by the end of the ride, he really wasn't enjoying it. We will try again next time!

Carter has been doing SO good at using the potty now too and even when we are out and about he does great! And Im also happy to announce that we have moved from the glorious potty gifts... to a simple pack of fruit snack... only when he asks though.. I don't remind him.

Bentley loved just looking around.. checking things out! What an easy going baby!

Then it was grandma's turn to take Carter... the classic Mary-go-round! But yet again.. he wasn't very brave without Lincoln and didn't really want to sit on the horse.. but was happy just to chill with his grandma on the seats... My mom said that as soon as the ride started going he said "TOOOO FAST!" lol funny guy.

The BEST part of Carter and Bentley's day was THE TRAIN RIDE! They were both completely in heaven! Right before we got onto the train, I parked the stroller and took Bentley out of his Carseat. My mom had Carter in her arms and although we were seconds from boarding the train...literally only had a couple of people ahead of us who were already getting on, Carter was So scared that we were going to miss the train.. in complete panic mode.. begging us to hurry. I find it so amazing just how much this kid LOVES trains. As soon as we got on the train, he was instantly quiet and sat so nicely.. content. A mothers dream!

Bentley LOVED it too this time. He was so happy!

Carter was a COMPLETE Grandma's boy all day. Everything he needed to do... was ... "DAM-MA, Help YOuuuuuu!" (Carter ALWAYS says "help you please" instead of "Help me please" because we are always saying, "Carter would you like me to Help you?" lol its pretty cute!)

Carter was fascinated with all the trains. He loved everything about them, from their whistle to the steam to touring inside the old coaches. To say he Loves trains is a HUGE understatement!

Next was the big boat ride.

He was convinced we were on "Bullstrode" - from the Thomas the Train shows. He's addicted! The scenery was BEAUTIFUL! And it made my heart melt as the boat went right by the RockyView Hospital where both my boys were born. That place has so many feeling attached to it for me and it was nice to see the beauty in it as the wind blew with my boys beside me. It is a special place.

We are so lucky to have such beauty in this world. After the boat ride, it was just about time to call it a day. We stopped at a few stores and Carter convinced Grandma to buy him a train.. of course. And by 4:05pm my little boys were in the back seat.. OUT COLD..

With his train in hand.. naturally.

We are so happy that Grandma is on holidays this week and that we got to spend the day with her. She is so special to us. We love her so much. Family is the most important thing in this world to me and spending time with Family (and Trains for Carter lol) is what life is all about.
