Be as a little child.

I wish I was more like that. Like the little child. The one who is so naive. The one who always smiles. The one who says "I'm Sorry" and the problem is fixed. The one who cries those big crocodile tears and it's okay to. Be as a little child.

I have been reflecting on my life a lot lately. Trying to pull myself out of the "slump" of Anxiety. Trying to find the good in the beautiful life I have been given. I am Lucky. I am finding me. I am very influenced by others. I feel what you feel.. if you feel self-conscience around me, I will too... but I am trying to fix that.

Be as a little Child. They smile at the silliest things.. and they light up a room.

They see their reflection in the mirror and see a child of God. They smile in excitement of what they see. They see exactly what we see... the cuteness and love that surrounds their little face.

 photo 5-3.jpg

So many times, when we (at least for me) look into the mirror, we see those extra 5 pounds that we "need" to lose. We see the hips that God gave us to bear and bring children into the world. We see the wrinkles that we have created on our face over the years and not realizing that over the years we have created those beautiful wrinkles through smiling and laughing. We age. It's normal. It's supposed to be that way. We see the "rolls" that 99% of people have and think its uncommon... we think.. "eww I shouldn't have that".. when reality is, you have them.. and it's ok. You are unique and they are NORMAL.

Why can't we just savour the moments. Cuddle. Love. Be present in your life. And accept you for you. You are beautiful.

Today, yes today. I am turning over a new leaf. I am going to love me for me. I have a "mommy-tummy" from having two beautiful boys and today, I am accepting that. This post is going to help me remember these things when I feel down. I have gorgeous friends who don't think they are pretty.. but if they saw what I see they would see pure beauty.. they would see the greatest friend that I could ever have. I think they are beautiful.

Often, when Brian would compliment me, I would say... "suuuree" or "you're my husband, you have to say that" and the most common.. "I wish I could see what you see".. he always replies "you can". I love you Brian. Thanks for making me the strong woman that I am.

I am going to take the greatest lesson my boys have taught me. To just be Happy.

(Thanks Grandma Reed for the rebounder!! Carter is IN LOVE with it!!)

Spoil yourself, Have a treat!

 photo 16-2.jpg

Ok, maybe finding out that your two-year old found the container of white sugar isn't the best way to satisfy a "treat" craving lol but how could I not take a picture! BUSTED!

 photo 17-1.jpg

And the best advice I've ever heard.. when you feel sad or lonely, DO SOMETHING TO MAKE SOMEONE ELSE HAPPY.. IN TURN, YOU WILL MAKE YOURSELF HAPPY. This Could not be more true! When we do things at home to make others happy we feel happy instantly! Remember this. Apply it. You will not regret it!

Color. Color a lot!

 photo 19-2.jpg

Make lemon squares into hearts. Somehow it seems so much better that way!

 photo 20-2.jpg

Find friends. True Friends.

 photo 21-2.jpg

Friends who don't judge you, who love you for you. Friends who will be there for you, to pick you up and not bring you down. And most importantly, be a good friend yourself. Be the best friend you can be.

 photo 22-2.jpg

DANCE. It's amazing the joy this can bring!

 photo 24-2.jpg

Hold hands. It's the best way to feel connected.

 photo 23-2.jpg

Be the mother.. or Father... you always wanted to be. Don't let your phone or anything else get in the way of that. When your to busy checking out facebook your sweet little toddler is colouring IN the lines and is so proud of himself. I learned this the hard way. Play with them. Cuddle them. Let them be little.

It's amazing just how happy YOU can make them. All alone just by being with them!

And take pictures to remember the moments that don't happen often.

(Sweet Bentley, when he was totally out cold, he would sometimes "jump" mid-sleep... like sleep walking.. but sleep jumping lol- LOVE this baby!)

 photo 32-1.jpg

Find something that speaks to your child.. for Carter, it's using his active little mind to build a train track, and do it with them everyday.

 photo 33-1.jpg

 photo 34-1.jpg

Help them, say "no" to them, say "SURE" to them sometimes when they ask for a treat or to stay up an extra 10 minutes.. its those moments they will remember as they get older. And most importantly respect them. In return they WILL respect you.

Today, I am finding me. I am writing this as tears run down my face.. in true honestly.. with pure intent. I am being the lady I want to be. I am not going to be self-conscience any more! That is behind me.. I am moving forward. Accepting me for me. Loving my family as we all learn and grow together. Today, I am Happy.
