They steal my heart!
Valentines is one of my favourite celebrations! It sounds so "cliche" but I absolutely LOVE.. LOVE! I love everything about it.. the sweet little "nothings" that make you smile, the way your heart beats a little faster... butterflies in your belly.. ok could this get any cheesier!? But its true.. I am completely in love with Brian and I will embrace that everyday of my life! So after all, Valentines is a pretty perfect holiday for me you could say! This year though Valentines was a little different! Brian is in his VERY LAST semester of University (WE'VE ALMOST DONE IT!!) and every Thursday, Brian has classes from 9am to 10pm .. and of course Valentines fell on a Thursday this year.. but it was ok.. I got to spend Valentines with my two little Cupids! Carter and Bentley were the perfect little way to spend Valentines doing crafts and letting them both know how much I love them! We started the day off by making Daddy a fun Valentines Craft!
Carter LOVES painting so this was a perfect craft for him!
He was so happy making this for Daddy!
I absolutely LOVE this paint too.. it washes out so easily and its just from the dollar store so it really doesn't matter when he makes a disaster!
Looking good so far!!
ALL DONE!!
Brian LOVED it! What a fun painting to have! Also, about a month ago I made Carter his very own Mail box! This idea came to me one night when I was having a particular hard day with Carter.. he was NUTS! Terrible two's to the MAX and I just couldn't wait for bed time to roll around. I was so frustrated but was trying to hold it all together until he went to bed. Once he was in bed I had a lot of regrets for that day... I wished I had more patience.. I wished I could have just reminded myself that he is ONLY two! To cut him some slack.. but I also wished I could go back into his room (even though he was fast asleep) and tell him how much I love him.. even though he was driving me crazy... I wanted him to know that although I didn't like or approve of his behaviour I will always love him... So I made him a mail box!
Every day.. good or bad.. I write him a love letter telling him how much I love him.. sometimes I will write out a little song or certain things about him that I love. Whatever it is, it reminds him just how much he means to me! He loves his mail box.. he checks his mail each morning and asks me to read the letters to him... then he says "thank you mommy" and puts his letters on the fridge with a magnet. It makes me so happy! So naturally he got Valentines mail on this day particular!
I was excited to give the boys their Valentines gifts...
Bentley really seemed to like his little puppy and it made tummy time a little more interesting!
Oh goodness I LOVE YOU BENTLEY!
As for Carter, he has been carrying around his puppy for days!
It melts my heart!
In the Afternoon, we even had a little visitor! My nephew Taytum came to play for a little bit!
For Valentines dinner I TRIED to make a "kid friendly" dinner that I really thought Carter would love. I made pink crepes with Raspberries, blackberries and pink strawberry milk!
However, after he attempted putting the crepes in his mouth.. three times... gaging and balling.. almost puking.. we gave up and he ended up eating hotdogs and cheese.. lol.. who knew a kid wouldn't like yummy crepes! You win some, you loose some!
After dinner, Carter enjoyed our homemade cupcakes ...
Maybe he enjoyed them a little too much actually lol
My Valentines was wonderful! Spending my day with my two boys was great! I mean how could you now have fun with Bentley & Carter!?
Now for a quick update with some seriously cute Valentines photos!
I cannot believe Bentley is 3 and a half months old! Why is time going so fast!?! He is still such a good baby and I am cherishing every moment with him! We were not able to get Bentley in for his two month shots until he was 3 months old so we have only recently got them done. The poor little guy cried LIKE CRAZY but didn't cry for to long after... it was so sad!
So as of February 6th, Bentley stats are... 12 lbs 10 oz....23.75 inches tall and has a perfect little head of 41.3cm round.
He is in the 50th percentile for weight and head circumference, but he is in the 75th percentile for height!
Carter is really starting to play the big brother roll well! He is like the crazy old aunt tale... you know.. the crazy aunt who is always pinching your cheeks.. yah thats Carter. He is ALWAYS pinching Bentley's cheeks lol
Although I must admit that Bentley doesn't seem to really mind and it always gives us a good laugh!
I know God gave me these two little boys. They mean the world to me.
