A little organization is good for the soul!

This past week has been crazy! Actually, maybe just our weekend was crazy... I love everything about Father's Day weekend because I get to celebrate Brian and how he has become the most incredible Father to our little Carter and our soon to be second baby boy! I appreciate everything Brian does as a Father... he really is the kind of "Hands On Dad" I always imagined I would marry! He helps me so much with Carter when he is home and Carter loves him to DEATH! I couldn't count how many times in a day Carter asks for "Daddy" ... its the sweetest thing. And when Brian is home... never mind "Mommy" his life is all about his Daddy! Sure Ill admit... sometimes Im jealous.. but to watch the two of them play and watching Carter give his Daddy big hugs and kisses every day when he walks through the door from a long day at work or school .. it takes my breath away... I love the relationship that Brian and Carter have... it makes my heart complete! So because Father's day is so special to me, and I knew Sunday was going to be crazy busy.. I decided that Carter and I would celebrate Father's Day for Brian on Friday evening when he got home from work. We made him a nice Prime Rib dinner with mashed potatoes, corn and of course.. Au Jus sauce. It was delicious! Carter and I also got a little crafty with our Father's day gift... first we made him these... Photobucket ... then a home made card ... Photobucket And we also went to the apple store to get him a new iPhone case that he has had his eye on for a few weeks now! Photobucket Dinner was a success.. and although Carter was beyond crabby that night and wasn't feeling to good with a high fever.. we still had a wonderful time enjoying each others company! For desert, I bought some Jelly Donuts... but not just any jelly donut...Here is the story... When Bri and I were dating in High School.. there was this bakery just beside the school.. they have THE BEST jelly donuts! On occasion (at lunch time) we used to walk over to the bakery and each get one... I never went back after high school... who knows why.... but I picked some up and they are just as good as I remembered them being! Yumm!! Photobucket It was a nice way to reminisce about the good old times! Sunday .. the "Real" Father's Day was good too... super busy but good... we spent our day all over town trying to spend as much time with our dad's and grandfathers as possible. Its always so hectic but it is always so nice to be with ones you love and celebrate your appreciation for them! Sunday also marked a special day for me... I was 20 weeks on Sunday.. which in my books means.. HALF WAY THERE!! Photobucket Super exciting.. and I have a feeling this second half will be easier then the first.. well hopefully! Im feeling so much better and am able to accomplish a lot more.. which is so nice! I tried not to take my diclectin for a day.. that didn't go so well... but it was worth a try! Im not as nauseous (although its worse at night now then in the morning). And I'm starting to enjoy this pregnancy! This week has been super productive.. I don't know if I am getting that burst of energy they say you get in your second trimester or if I just can't stand how disorganized my house has been lately but the last two days I have spent organizing, cleaning and decorating! It has been wonderful! We have been wanting to redo Carter's room since we found out we were expecting again.. so we had been collecting items here and there that we likes for his room... and FINALLY yesterday I got it done! I wanted to put Carter in a big boy bed sooner than later because I didn't want him to be sad when the new baby got his crib... he was a little confused.. but all in all its been great! Here is his old room.. Photobucket His old toddler bed... Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket And here is Carter's new Big Boy Room! Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket And his new Big Boy Bed!!! Photobucket He LOVES it... we are so happy! He LOVES that huge teddy that my parents bought him from Costco.. he hugs it OVER and OVER and OVER! And one of the most exciting parts of his room for him I think is his bedding... when I made his bed for the first time he RAN over and said.. BUS!!! BUS!!! BUS!!! BUS!!! BUS!!!... again and again pointing at every truck on it lol it was hilarious! And because Carter's room is finally done, we were able to put the crib back into the infant setting and it, along with the change table and rocking chair are in the baby's room ... waiting to be decorated... the best part by far! Im so excited that my house is starting to feel more organized! Nesting is in Full swing.. and Im loving it!
