Boy oh Boy... ITS A BOY!
I am so excited to be writing this post and announcing we are having another baby boy! Oh my gosh I could not be happier!! The Joy I feel in having two little boys is simply amazing!
Week 18 was pretty good..
...Im starting to feel so much better... still queazy here and there.. but NOTHING like it was in the beginning. Im starting to enjoy it a little more everyday. At this 18 week point, I officially stopped taking my Ran-Ondansetron prescription and I only take the Zantax when I randomly get little bursts of heartburn.. but other then that I am happy that I am only taking my Diclectin right now (knock on wood)!!
19 weeks was by far the best so far!
At 19 weeks and 1 day we had our ultrasound! It was so amazing.. just like Carter's was! I had the same feelings as I completely fell in love with the new little life inside me. Baby was very relaxed at first... his little heart beating at 133 bpm and not wanting to really show anything off! I was nervous... not only were they having a hard time getting the pictures that they needed for the ultrasound because baby was so relaxed and curled up but I was sure we weren't going to be able to see if baby was a boy of girl.. if you don't really know me well, you should know that not knowing the sex of the baby would drive me INSANE!!
Once they had me completely empty my bladder (so baby had as much room as he needed to move around) FINALLY baby started to cooperate! We found out that my placenta is anterior facing which means that baby is taking the back seat and the placenta is right up against the front of my tummy. They said this doesn't affect the baby at all it just means that I won't be able to feel baby's kicks as much for the first little bit because the placenta is in-between like a cushion. The only scary thing about this is that sometimes (closer to the end of pregnancy) the placenta will shift or move .. and typically the placenta will move to the back wall but in some cases the placenta will move downwards and cover my cervix... if this happens then it would be covering baby's way out and I would have to have c-section.. which scares me to DEATH! So hopefully if it does move.. it goes to the back... Im excited to talk to my doctor more about it next thursday.
Once baby started cooperating we were able to get some really fun pictures of him.. Look at that spine! Super cool!
Watching baby kick and move around was really cool too... closer to the end of the ultrasound his little legs and feet were just going for it!
It was hard for them to get a good profile picture of baby because of his position but it doesn't really matter.. I know he's a total cutie!
Baby LOVED to have his hands in his mouth.. over his face.. just really snuggled up... it was very sweet. I love this next pictures. Baby's hand is in his face and his little feet are way up in the picture too.. like a full body shot!
And its apparent that baby will have big hands like all three of us... look at those hands!! The lady doing our ultrasound saw them and said... "Holy look at his hands!!" lol
When they showed us that this baby was a boy, both Brian and I immediately started to tear up. It was an instant kind of love for this sweet little boy... all I could think about was our little Carter and how happy he will be (hopefully!) to have a little Brother. A million thoughts started running through my head .. like watching my two boys playing with their hot wheels cars... having matching christmas and easter outfits... It made me think of my sister and I. We are about the age apart as my two boys will be and we are the best of friends. So many things excite me about having two sweet (and crazy) little boys. I am such a lucky mommy!
As for the soon to be older brother...
Im not sure he understands us when we say "Carter your going to have a little Brother!!" But come November, he will learn... Im excited for this new chapter in our lives... a little more hectic and crazy but hopefully we will survive it, embrace it and love every minute of it! My heart is full.
