ONE and a HALF

I cannot believe it... Carter is 1 and a half! I don't know why.. but this seems like a B.I.G milestone. He is now old enough to be in Nursery at church... which is exciting and a little scary too. Carter has become a little (Ok, a lot!) possessive of things... everything really... I think its a good time to introduce a sibling shortly! I mean, Im sure the nursery leaders deal with it a lot but Im still nervous that he will be a handful. Maybe he will surprise me... fingers crossed. Carter is so full of life! He is quite the busy little guy and leaves no room for resting when he is awake.. but I like it that way. He is so interested in EVERYTHING and recently has gotten quite the little attitude. He has his famous "stink face" and in the last day he has "remembered" how to shriek (I really thought we were over this awful stage). He is becoming a little more difficult at dinner time and is sometimes SO LOUD!! I think he is showing me the prequel to "The Terrible Two's"! But there are other things that Carter does that weigh out all the "bad". He really does have a very sweet little spirit under that stink face of his.. I know how much he loves me and Brian because he will Always lean in for a kiss and when you say "I love you Carter" he smiles ... and my heart melts. Today he learned how to say the word "Bus" and he says it pretty good! It really makes me smile how much he is learning. Last Friday we went to take some cute little pictures of Carter for his 18 month photos and we tried our best to catch his little personality so we would never forget just how challenging 18 months can be but also just how perfectly rewarding they are also. This was special to me... Photobucket Photobucket And while I wish so badly that he was a Mommy's boy... he truly is a Daddy's boy. He loves his Daddy like no one else. Photobucket Well... and he LOVES airplanes... Photobucket I cannot even begin to explain the love I have for Brian and Carter... these two guys mean the world to me. Brian is such an incredible Daddy... hands on and super involved... I could not ask for more. Carter truly benefits from such an amazing Daddy... I mean seriously he is such a daddy's boy. Photobucket At 18 months Carter is still EXTREMELY independent! He is shy... when people look at him.. complement him.. or try to touch him (lol) but he would entertain himself for hours at the park or just in an empty field if we let him. Photobucket He also LOVES chasing you....and of course when you chase him too.. Photobucket Photobucket He has all his teeth expect for a few "2 year old molars" but we are grateful that he now has all his eye teeth... those were by far the worse so far... he is a little more difficult to take shopping and out for dinner... but we try to manage as best as we can.. and when I have moments like this with him... Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket .. I remember the things in life that are most important. Carter also LOVES music and to dance.. so it was no surprise when we saw a man busking in the park with his accordion... Carter and I began to "bust a move" and Carter even threw 50 cents into his case.. it was cute. Photobucket Happy 18 months to our sweet and sometimes crazy Carter. We love you so much Big Guy! In baby news... we are now 17 weeks!! Just 2 weeks left until we find out is Baby is a Boy or a Girl.. We cannot even stand the anticipation! It is so exciting for me! Baby is now the size of an onion.. although my belly would have you thinking it was much bigger.. Photobucket At the end of 16 weeks I felt baby move for the first time! Although it wasn't a little flutter like I felt with Carter... It was a HUGE shift and then my belly was super hard where baby was... kinda crazy! Baby has "shifted' a ton since and I LOVE it! We also had a baby doctor appointment last week and baby's heartbeat was 143 bpm! Now I am totally confused if baby is a girl or a boy... this heartbeat sounds more like a boy to me but my gut feeling is a girl.... so excited to find out! We already have names for both girl and boy so it truly doesn't matter to us :) We are so excited to share our life with another little baby and for Carter to become a big brother! I think he will be a great one! Photobucket We are blessed.
