Easter Weekend
Wow! That was a fantastic Easter weekend! Brian got the weekend off of work! Brian hasn't had a weekend off since the end of September last year AND it was a long weekend! We were ALL in heaven! It felt like a vacation! We decided to take FULL advantage of Brian's weekend off and booked an overnight stay in Canmore! We were recommended by some friends to stay at the Grand Rockies Resort.. It was only about 10$ more expensive than a "regular hotel" and it was INCREDIBLE! Here is how our weekend went!
We waisted no time at all on Friday morning, got up early and packed and met up with our friends Andrew, Andrea and their two little ones, Lincoln & Autumn! We all headed out to spend the day in Banff! I thought the day was going to be cold but it was actually beautiful! The drive was nice, Carter slept for about an hour of it so it was extra nice! When we arrive we took out the strollers and started walking around town looking into all the fun candy/chocolate and toy stores! I love having a little boy!
Although, having kids makes everything a little more interesting. Carter was defiantly not in the best of moods for this trip.. but he was ok.. could have been worse I guess. We all decided that maybe we would head over to the glacier where we could let Linc and Carter run around and play for a bit to burn off some of their energy. They are such good little friends and so much fun to watch!
And Lincoln... could he get ANY cuter!!??
And lets not forget the adorable little Autumn.. she is so beautiful!
The two boys were in H.E.A.V.E.N... to say the least! They LOVED running around, chasing each other...

But who could really not enjoy this view. I love that Bri and I live so close to the mountains. I could never move away... I would miss them to much. Just a 2 hour drive and you feel like your across the world... leaving all your worries behind and taking in the beautiful mountain air. Pure Bliss.
I remember when Brian and I were dating and we used to go to the mountains almost every saturday and we said.. even when we get married and have kids.. lets still go almost every saturday. I wish that were the case... but sometimes Life and work gets in the way... but we will never miss an opportunity.. thats for sure!
I love watching these boys explore together...
...although I was a little nervous that Carter kept sticking his head between the two bars on the bridge.... he does have a big head.. and that would have been trouble if he got stuck! Good thing he didn't!
One of Carter's favourite parts of the day (Im sure) was meeting this lovely dog named Zeek.
He was just walking by but Carter was completely taken by Zeek. He was petting him, kissing him and completely intrigued by him. In case you don't know, Carter LOVES dogs. The other day my mom and I took him to the park and there was 3 friendly dogs there and Carter could care less about the playground.. he just stood by those dogs and was loving life. Zeek was very friendly and so was his owner, but when it was time for them to go.. Carter's heart broke! He started balling and trying to chase after him. Poor little guy.
Once we finished playing outside, we decided it was time to go pick up dinner and head over to the resort for a swim. I was so excited to take Carter swimming because they had an awesome kiddie pool and slide that I really thought Carter would love... but that didn't happen. Carter was super crabby and only wanted to sit in the hot tub.. with his daddy... so that is what they did.
Lincoln on the other hand was such a good boy! He LOVED playing in the kid pool and went down the slide a ton. It was so fun to watch.. he has such a fun personality!
And even though Carter didn't want to go down any slides... Brian didn't miss out lol. He went down this slide a ton and admitted it being the fastest slide he had ever been on! Honestly watching him was hilarious!
We were so happy that Andrew & Andrea were able to come with us. They didn't stay the night but it was fun to spend the day together. Lincoln had so much fun..
And little Autumn ... well I think she had so much fun too and she defiantly found the hot tub relaxing!
We were so happy we stayed at the Grande Rockies Resort in Canmore! It was AMAZING! They had this shower in the bathroom with this incredible massage feature, you could turn the steam on and listen to music... needless to say, Brian and I both took 1 hour showers! It was so relaxing!
And the kitchen.. it was nicer than ours! Carter loved that he could open all the cupboards because they were not "toddler proofed" and we love having a kitchen in our hotel room.. it is so convenient! Expecially when you have a toddler!
We checked out on Saturday morning around 10am. Headed back to Calgary, went out for breakfast at Cora's .. where for the first time I had to eat breakfast SO FAST and take Carter out to the car because he was being SO BAD! I guess it probably won't be the last time that happeneds.. unfortunately. lol.
We spent the evening with my family for Easter dinner. My mom always decorates her table so nice.. and this time was no different.
On special occasions, she usually makes some kind of treat for everybody's plate.. it was so yummy! I LOVE easter chocolate!
And although we ate and ran because once again Carter was super crabby .. must be he teeth or something because that is NOTHING like him. .. it was still nice to spend time with family.
On Sunday we were supposed to have Easter dinner with Brian's family but everyone had the flu :( so we plan on doing easter dinner with them this Saturday! SO EXCITED!
It was an incredible weekend! I LOVE having Brian home on the weekend. It was so special and I can't wait till his next weekend off!! I LOVE YOU BRIAN REED!
