Date Night.. Party Weekend.. completely Humiliating!
Ok so.. for the record.. this post was finished a week ago but my wonderful husband took FOREVER to get the video. I don't know how to put video on my blog... but maybe I should learn lol. Thanks though babe I appreciate everything you do.. even if it takes a week (*wink*) xxoo
Recently Bri celebrated his 24th birthday! Every year our country celebrates his birthday too! Brian was born on Canada Day! This year, we went to our church in the morning where they hosted their yearly Canada Day Celebration with tallent shows, hot dogs, cotton candy, jump domes for kids and so much more. We hung out with family and enjoyed a beautiful dinner at the River Cafe with our good friends Zach and Sarah who were visiting from Edmonton. It was awesome! But we must admit that aside from Brian opening his GoPro camera that Carter and I got for him and acting like a complete 5 year old in excitement, Bri and I LOVED showing Carter the firetruck! For the record.. we were way more excited about it than he was.. he didn't even seem interested... but we are always excited to do "little boy things" with Carter whenever we get the chance!

This past weekend was our stampede kick off weekend! Living in Calgary.. we get the luxury of going to stampede every year. I couldn't remember the last time I went to the stampede parade and it just so happened that through Brian's work rotation he had Friday off.... so we got out of bed at 5:30am (why??... because we can!) and softly put Carter in his car seat still in his jammies and headed downtown to find a spot on the curb and wait for 3 hours before the parade started. Although Carter did not go back to sleep.. he was such a good boy and we cannot complain!
We packed his bottles and breakfast ... extra blankies and an outfit to change him later...
And we waited anxiously for the Royal Couple to drive by... we couldn't see them while they watched the parade but to start the parade off they drove by the parade route.. it was cool to see them although it would have been more fun to see them at least stick their hands out the window and wave lol.. i know.. silly.. but in an instant they were gone!
Carter enjoyed the parade.. once it really got going... he LOVED watching the horses and was completely distracted by the bands. It was cute.
(Im not sure I've ever seen a guy ride a bull so nicely before lol)

It was really fun to go to but I don't think I would do it every year... but once in a while is Great!
Not only did Bri and I have an early morning.. but we also had a late night! My mom watched Carter and Bri and I enjoyed an evening date to the stampede. It was SO MUCH FUN! I felt like a teenager again! We laughed, played, went on the scariest ride of my life.. and enjoyed a romantic end watching fireworks. Pure Bliss!!
We started off the evening with 5 cent candies.. our favorite!
First off... Brian "conveniently" knows the guy who owns the sling shot ride...yea... long story short... the ride is typically $50 each person but his friend put us on it for Free! I didn't want to go.. I thought I was going to puke.. in fact just writing about it right now makes me want to puke. I did not want to go on at all.
I was Terrified.. honestly... terrified! Especially when I read about the ride... it didn't make me feel much better!
160 km in an instant is not usually my gig!
Yes, this is me completely panicking.. I could hardly breath! And you want to see what is even more embarrassing...

Bri and I were not sure if we really wanted to post our completely humiliating experience but we thought you would probably get a laugh out of it. I think Brian's face is way more funny and he says my face priceless... all-in-all he says he would go again... and I would NEVER do it again! lol
But I must admit.. I did survive..
Trying to get back into my good books after torturing me and making me age a year or two.. Brian bought me some ice cream... so it made it a little more bearable.
Have you ever has these new ice cream mini melts? They are AMAZING! They are so cold that with each bite you feel like you just stuck your lips on a pole in the cold winter.
The rest of the evening was so much fun! We watched the chuck wagon races in the rain.. cuddled together and Bri would sneak a kiss on my cheek every so often.
We laughed at this guy who was a few rows in front of us... when it started to rain, he went and got some cotton candy.... gave the cotton candy away but kept the bag to cover his hat.... seriously? Thats amazing!
We took a million pictures of each other trying to get one that was semi-decent... and it really wasn't working out. Brian kept saying he didn't look good because he has "deep eye socets" bahahahhaha ohh Brian.. and I swear I have to many wrinkles for a 24 year old.. but thats thanks to the ride we went on earlier.. BRIAN!
We ate Caramel Apples...
and finished off the night watching the grandstand show and fireworks!
All-in-all, we had an amazing evening! Acting young... being carefree and loving life. Thank you so much mom for watching our sweet little Carter, you are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!
Saturday came sooner than we would have wanted as Carter is teething so waking up early has been in our books for the last few days. However, we were able to accomplish so much on Saturday including taking Carter to the Spruce Meadows Horse Jumping.. it was a lot of fun but I didn't realize just how quiet everyone is in the stands... like golfing!! We were only able to keep little Carter quiet for half of it so we left a little early and took him to the dog races. OH MY GOODNESS, Carter LOVES dogs lol. Before the dog show started we were able to take him into the tent to meet all the dogs...
Carter was in HEAVEN! He honestly just stared at all of them and "talked" their little ears off... lol.. people were even commenting about how much Carter had to say to these little talented dogs. This was definitely Carter's favorite part of the day!
