Come what may and Love it.

God wont always calm the storm, sometimes he will teach you to splash in the puddles that are made. I've been thinking a lot lately of my son.... go figure right!? He makes me so happy in so many ways, and I try to cherish every moment there is.

Sometimes when Carter is having a bad night and I am exhausted from getting up every hour, I get on my knees at 3 o'clock in the morning and pray that God will help him to sleep so I can sleep.. sometimes Carter will fall right to sleep and sleep straight through to the morning, and sometimes he will get up even more than before I prayed. It is those time when I know I am being taught patience.

Yesterday we went and took a couple of family photos.. just for fun really. There was a bad storm on its way.. but that didn't stop us.. but it made me reflect on this life. We want Carter to know that no matter what life puts in front of you.. you have to do what will make you happy... even if that means playing in a storm... and it's never to early to teach little life lessons to our beautiful little sponge! He can learn so much.. much more than I think we give him credit for.

I adore the feeling of the few nights that I rock Carter to sleep while he twirls my hair in his fingers or when I hold him on my hip and he puts his arm around mine and holds tight. Its when he cries those adorable crocodile tears and wants his mommy. When he takes his blankie and eats it out of Love and excitement. I am an overprotective mama. I want what every mother wants for their child... I want Carter to always know that there is no one in this world who loves him more than we do.

Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin (one of the 12 apostles (who passed away in 2008) of our church - the church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints) gave a talk once called Come What May and Love It. This is a quote that Bri and I stand by. We love it.. it speaks to so many "storms" in this world with only 6 simple words.

Come what may.. and Love it.

Make yourself happy no matter what it takes. Find your joy in life!
