B.A.B.Y.B.O.Y.

I woke up this morning with tired eyes... i did not sleep a wink last night... thinking.. only thinking of our little baby. Will it be a baby boy? A baby Girl? Will it be healthy? Will it be growing at the right pace and be the right size?

Today, our life was changed.

Today I "woke up" two hours before our appointment. I was tired but could not sleep. I felt last night as though i was 10 years old again waiting for my parents to wake me up and take me to Disneyland. I was excited. I was nervous. I was prayerful.

I had to drink 1 liter of water. This was a challenge. Trying not to puke it up was even more of a challenge. I took a shower and got ready for the day. Driving to the Ultrasound I was quiet and loud, nervous and excited, hopeful and stressed. It is amazing how much you fall in love with your baby before you see it. It is an amazing kind of love.

We arrived. We had our form and we were ready to hear the best or the worst. We prayed... again.

I walked in looking like a penguin... i had to pee sooooo bad (but you have to hold it). Our appointment was at 8:30am .. they took us in around 8:45am. It was a long 15 minute wait.

Our radiologists name was Jessica, she was sweet. We told her that if possible, we would Love to know the sex of our baby.. she said she would try.

Only a minute later, our life changed as we saw the life we created. With so much love in our hearts, we got teary-eyed and smiled. Brian slipped his hand under the blanket where my hands were. He held my hand tight and said "this is amazing".

We both felt a new kind of L.o.v.e.

Jessica said "Congratulations, its a BOY!" We were ecstatic! A perfect Baby Boy. He has 10 toes. From his heel to his toe is 3cm long!

10 fingers... he even gave her a "thumbs up" at one point! Baby's right hand.

Baby's left hand

And a perfect little heart beat beating at 133 beats per minute. Normal. Music to a mother's ears.

What a perfectly healthy Baby Boy. At 19 weeks and 1 day he is 9 ounces. We have been so blessed. We love you so much baby Reed.

Now to reveal baby's true nature... He is CRAZY already.. he was flipping all over the place when Jessica was trying to get pictures of him.. back and forth... back and forth... belly.. spine.... belly... spine... we laughed. I can feel him move a lot now. It is so comforting, like he is letting me know he is ok.

Our little Jelly Bean even sucked his thumb for a second during our ultrasound. He would make a fist and then open his hand wide.. he has long fingers! I say "piano fingers Brian" brian replied... "basket ball fingers babe" lol.

He is Perfect and we could not have asked for a more successful appointment. To celebrate that we were having a baby boy we went a purchased our first "blue" baby thing...

Today was amazing. Full of new life. A new love. and perfect Baby Boy. Today our life was changed.
