Fill in the blank

Ah, the week between Christmas and New Years when Brian is off work is the best! We go to bed way too late, sleep in even later and are mostly 10/10 lazy. It is glorious and fills our buckets right up! After a few days of little house projects, and nothing excited but everyone happy to finally relax, we decided to shove in some fun to fill in the blank in the week.

Bentley suggested we do Activate as a family. It was SO MUCH FUN and Im so glad we did it. It was like bonding/competitive gaming rooms of tasks and it was incredible. Definitely need to do this again!

Today we took the day to sneak away to one of our favourite places in the world.. to the mountains! We don't get to go out very often anymore but when we do, we feel so happy and refreshed.

We started off our day by going to our favourite Pizza place in Canmore for lunch. Rocky Mountain Flatbread.

After lunch we headed to Banff and stopped at the frozen falls. The views were breathtaking. The wind was so cold but being on that frozen water taking in that incredible scene was just perfect.

Exploring the Banff Springs Hotel was something else. We had some time to kill before our bowling reservation and that hotel was super cool. So many old photos and artifacts. So so much history within those walls. The cool elevators and staircases, the massive rounded roofs in the big hallways. It was all so cool.

We eventually made it to the bowling alley at the hotel. It was super fun. A disco ball, low light experience  with 4 small lanes in the whole bowling alley.

We played hard and we played to win. It really was so fun.

We finished the packed day with a 40 minute drive around the Banff hot spring parking lot try to find parking to go to the upper hot springs and eventually conceded defeat and went to our favourite pool in Canmore. Bri and I stayed and relaxed in the hot tub while the kids were in and out of the pool and hot tub hanging out together.

We drove home and finished the night off with a family movie. I live for these moments. Not the money spent or the activities we did but the time we spend together as a family enjoying small talk, soaking in the views that God created and just cherishing these moments with the best kids on earth.

We really are so lucky. So so lucky.
