Snowy Christmas Trees

Ok Canada, you win. When you snow an INSANE amount in a SHORT period of time and we all curse you because our backs hurt so bad from shovelling (not just me, right?) you CAN be fun in the right scenario. Maybe keep the crazy dumps of snow in the mountains and  givel us city folk a small break for a hot minute, please!

This past weekend we drove out to Kananaskis with my parents and my sister and her family for the annual tree hunt! The roads weren't great so Tyler and his family couldn't make it this year. We missed them! I was un awe the entire drive. The views with the fresh snow was surreal and I am so glad we were blessed to have this snow for this annual event this year!

We did it backwards this year. We played first, then found the tree last! It worked out great. We were so lucky to have so much snow for the massive toboggan hill this year!! In fact, there was so much that the huge piles at the bottom of the hill stopped your sled in perfect time. It was so much fun!

We got in the car and drove a quick 5 minutes to an empty parking lot and showed the kids all the fun we used to have in parking lots in the winter. It was just the best and their giggles and smiles were engraved in forever memories immediately!

When all our feet felt frost bit and all our fingers were numb, we decided to finally look for the perfect Christmas Tree. It didn't take long (probably because we were so cold our standards were lower than usual lol)

We took the trees back to Grandma and Grandpa's house where we ate snacks, listened to Christmas music, has lasagna for dinner and home made Oreo ice cream cake (OMGOSH so so good!!) and decorated "Grandma's Tree" AND "Grandpa's Tree." They painted homemade ornaments to place on the trees and Grandpa's tree had SO MUCH tinsel I felt overwhelmed just being around it lol

I love this annual tradition and this year just seemed extra magical with all that beautiful snow!
