Keepin' it "Mooky"

For the rest of forever, we will call Halloween a "moky" halloween because when Bentley was little, he told us that cows were "scary animals".. when I asked him why he felt like that he said because cows say "Mooooooo, like moooooookkkkkieeeee" (referring to spooky). We remind him of it every year, it is one of my favourite Bentley stories!

Celebrating a birthday and halloween at the same is tricky. It's hard to balance making everything work for a busy evening and making sure Bentley gets the celebration he deserves for his birthday but we do the best we can to make as much magic happen as possible!

Halloween was great this year because it landed on a Thursday and we didn't have school the next day! Every teachers dream! And mine too!

Although we barely have time to sleep these days, we made sure to get our pumpkin carving in earlier in the week. Poor Carter had a fever and wasn't feeling great so he kept it classic and simple. He was such a good sport to still want to try to do a pumpkin. I did all the guts for him though because no one wants to do that part anyway but especially when you feel sick!

I even took some "me time" at 10pm a couple of weeks ago and painted this little critter doll house into a spooky house as a decoration. I have wanted to do this for so long. It was such a fun and relaxing project for me and I love how it turned out!

Our home has been halloween decorated since Thanksgiving finished and I kinda love the few weeks of cute spooky we get. Penny even made her own little haunted house craft that has been on display for weeks in our living room. I love her little creative side!

And her adorable school craft too! Its sad that she's the only one left bringing holiday themed crafts home.. Im not ready for this park of life to pass by!

The boys this year decided to go as retro NBA players alongside a BUNCH of friends! It was amazing! Penny did a little French painter and reused her dance costume from last June. Win, Win!

I set class treats for Penny's class and she was happy about it!

We went trick-or-treating with our friends, so so many friends! It was overwhelming and chaotic but it's tradition and where the kids want to be! Penny changed into a pig costume because it was a freezing cold night and this felt way warmer than her painting costume. We had a fun time and are looking forward to doing it again next year!!

It was fun to sing Bentley and Baylor Happy Birthday at the end of our evening, sort through the candy and get to bed later than normal. Halloween 2024 is in the books and it was a great one!
