X-Country Girl
Ok, Penny is amazing! Last year, she chose not to do Cross country at school and honestly had zero regrets about it. This is one of my favourite qualities of Penny. She isn't rattled about what others are doing or think, she just does her! I hope she always has this mindset. This year, she made the choice to join the grade 5 cross country team and hasn't looked back. She had her first race out in Millville where she crushed it! It is extra fun when you get to be with so many of your friends!
She came in 10th place against all the other grade 5 girls from multiple schools in our school division. She felt chest pain when she was running but ran through it and crossed that finish line with her head held high!
This race was extra fun because Penny's cousin, Reed, was also running in this race so they cheered each other on and it was pretty sweet to see!
Penny was ready to go and listening to them chant "RDL.. RDL...RDL..." at the starting line was super cute!
She raced her little heart out and came in through that finish line right in the middle of the pack. The Grade 5 boys started the race really quickly after the grade 5 girls so she even got to run through that finish line with two of her little besties.. Truett and Bayden!
And it's always fun to see friends at the finish line!
And with that, Cross Country 2024 is finished! Proud of all three of them for pushing across those finish lines as hard as they did!
