Should have counted the steps...

I am so glad I was able to spend the entire day with Carter last week at his first ever, Junior high, track meet. I used to LOVE track and field (specifically, hurdles and high jump) and although Carter does not feel the same kind of passion (at least right now) for Track and Field, he was selected to compete in their high jump comp for his grade and school.

I am so proud of him for giving it his all. It really was just the best day hanging out with him and his friends.
He came in 6th place out of a bunch of kids! Way to go, Carter!! Proud of you buddy. The rest of the day was spent hanging out with friends, putting on WAYYYYY too much sunscreen and then being dared to ask a random person to rub it in. These kids are so funny and such a blast to hang around.
Bless these random moms heart for giving our boy and his friends the best laugh and being such good sports. They were awesome too.

Last week was such a treat because I got to spend one whole day with Carter and then the very next day I got to go on the Grade 3 hike with Penny for the entire day. How lucky am I!? Now I just need Bentley's grade to host an all day event so I can feel like I won the lottery!

Penny's hike was at Brown Lowry Park. We have never done this hike before but it was so awesome! Not too hard and so much fun hanging out with Penny and her friends all day.
We learnt all about animals and bugs and the forest and all the amazing things it does for us. Penny was so great the entire time. Being helpful and kind and honestly just the sweetheart that he is.
I loved the moments she would come over and hold my hand as we walked. Her and I (and a few of her friends) sang songs and shared treats and just had the best day. I love spending time with you, Penny girl. You're my favourite girl in the whole entire world!
Such a busy but great week.
