Like a Mother.

I really love to take a second and just see things for what they are and often we're so busy that it gets hard to just see things. Everything passes so fast with the constant rush of life but on Mother's Day this year I tried to just see and admire the amazing kids we have.

I woke up to the rustling of the house. I could tell the kids were up and rushing around trying to clean the house before I woke up. I didn't get out of my bed and just listened to the constant drawers slamming shut and the little feet running up and down the stairs. It was so cute and I made sure to act surprised when I did get out of bed.

We went to church and as I sat in the pew I noticed Bentley's finger nails filled with play doh. His head resting in my shoulder and I just felt so present. It was nice. Bentley and Penny sang a Mother's Day song with the rest of the primary and it totally got me teared up.

I am grateful for these little moments and I am so beyond grateful to be their Mom.
Knowing that Mother's Day is always so busy we hosted my family for dinner the week before. We celebrated my Mom and it was nice to have everyone together.
I am grateful for my mom and it was nice to celebrate her.

I love when the kids bring home crafts from school and I know Im on the tail end of it because Carter in grade 6 didn't do anything in school BUT he did write me the longest, sweetest, most thoughtful letter of all time. My heart swelled as I read his letter to myself. It was so personal and I just am so grateful for this sweet boy.
Bentley coloured the sweetest vase on a card and in it had the cutest poems. I just am so blessed to have such a lovely boy. He really is such an amazing kid!
Sweet Penny even told me that she worked soooo hard on her Mother's Day letter for me. I LOVE all the little fingerprints painted around the boarder and how neat she did her hand writing. I am so proud of her and will cherish this little misterpiece forever!
Bentley and Penny also did these little questionaires in Primary at church. Penny's made my eyes bug out when I read her response of "What is Mommy's favourite drink"... Ummmm Wow. LOL! She was trying to write "Coke" oops. This is so funny, I will also cherish this little masterpiece!
One of the highlights of our Day though was going to Brian's parents house and our boys finally got ot meet their new baby cousins! The twins are 2 weeks old but our boys have had some lingering little coughs so we had to wait until they were 100% again. It was so fun to see them holding and meeting their cousins. This was the second time Penny's got to hold them and again, she was in heaven!
I am so gratful for an amazing Mother-in-law and for Grandma Hawryluk and their amazing example they are to me. They have a constant positive influence on our lives and in our marriage and I just am so grateful for them!
It was really was a wonderful day. Brian did sushi and pizza for dinner, dealt with all the kids arguments that came out randomly throughout the day and I couldn't have asked for a better Mother's Day. I am so grateful for this beautiful motherhood life I've been given and I will cherish it day in and day out. While we rush kids from sport to sport to sport and wash so many jerseys every day I will forever be grateful for this beautiful calling of being their Mom.
Just living this life being their Mom and I am so lucky for it.
