Hop Hop Hop

On Good Friday we celebrated Easter with the Reeds. I truly cherish every moment we get to be with family but also sometimes feel anxious about it for no reason at all. I will never take for granted the time we can spend as a family after living through a pandemic. The last two springs it has been literally illegal to be with family, one of the hardest two years of my life and I just am grateful we can all be together to celebrate.
The way everyones schedules worked out, we had easter lunch instead of the traditional easter dinner. It was awesome! Mom Reed made a whole sub-sandwhich bar and her yummy taco soup! For dessert she made homemade carrot cake and ginger cake and it was all so good. She always spoils us with her delicious cooking!
She even decided to do it at the church this time which made it really fun actually. The kids played basketball, raced around RC cars and played with a parachute. They danced the chicken dance and the bunny hop too! It is so fun watching these cousins together.
Like seriously, these kids are so fun!
After lunch we did Grandmas easter egg hunt. Our kids favourite tradition with Grandma and Grandpa Reed. First, the parents hid the eggs and the kids found them. Mom Reed always gets each grandkid a different colour of easter eggs to find so that the kids are only looking for their own eggs.
Brian and Carter are so funny. Brian hid one egg for Carter right out in the open. Of course Carter found it immidiately and was kinda annoyed (in a fun way) that it was "too easy" but what Carter didn't know was that Brian also hid all 7 of his other eggs in the garbage can under a clean empty garbage bag. It took Carter FOREVER to find all the rest and it was so funny. We all got a good laugh.
After that the kids each hid one egg for each of the parents and you guessed it, our kids made it EXTRA tricky, just to get us back. Oh gosh, I love these three so much!
We're looking forward to the rest of the Easter weekend and can't wait for the Easter Bunny to come tonight! Happy Easter!
