The Happy Hawryluk Home

Grandparents are the sweetest people on the planet. Grandma and Grandpa Hawryluk have the coolest story. They met as teenagers and built and incredible life together. Literally built it. The house that they lived in their entire marriage was built with their own hands. They never carried a mortage and they built one room at a time and then saved money for the next room. Every inch of this house is so special. It's amazing to see all the tiny details and imagine Grandpa Hawryluk building this for his family.

I went in their house this past week and tried to capture as many little details as possible. The house isn't big but its beautiful and carries a million memories. Its honestly the most precious thing and I although I took so many photos, I know it will never be enough.
Each one of these rod iron bars, twisted and shaped himself.
Grandpa Hawryluk loved to be in his garden. His garden has trees that his kids brought of school in elementary school! Everything is reused and loved.
When the old firehall was being torn down, Grandpa would stop by everyday on his way home from work and stack his car with as many bricks as possible and bring them home to make this cute backyard firepit wall.
He even still has his Dad's (Brian's Great-Grandfather) pitch-fork just leaning up against the wall.
So many amazing details that were made and part of their home. Even this rock man "Rocky"
This is also his Dads plow that Grandpa Hawryluk made into a table! How cool!!
So many special memorbilia just in their backyard!
In their house is even more miraculous! Their tiny little kicten where Grandma fed 5 young kids. Such a treasure of a home!
Even this SWEEEETTTT note, this was the birthday note he gave her the night after he met her for the very first time. It was her 18th birthday and he gave her this note with 18 roses and she kept it. She looks at it every morning because its taped to the backside of her bedroom door. Be still my soul.
Every little detail so speial.
I find it amazing that Grandma still uses her original ironing board and iron. This is amazing to me!
We even found little posters that Grandma would hang in their hallway for her kids to see when they got home from school.
Even the highchair that their kids used.
There are so many treasures in their little home. I could have taken a million more photos and still would have missed things! Im so grateful for their amazing example of having a simple life but the most loving hardworking life. I am just grateful for them.
