I am brave enough..

Today was our one Calaway Park day this summer! We didn't get annual passes so we will only be going once this season because it costs way too much so we made the absolute best of our day!

This year we went with our friends, the Walkers. I am always amazed at how well all of our kids get along. They have 5 kids and our kids are all best friends. Today, my kids were living their absolute best life!

We got there right at 10 am, as soon as they opened and it was immediate ride after ride for the rest of the day. Usually I am overwhelmed at Calaway Park but today was so much fun. It felt easy and seemless... which says alot with 8 kids!
These kids were so fun, just running from one ride to the next, switching up riding buddies and waiting in line hanging out. We seriously couldn't have asked for it to be any better.
I will say that I did give Bentley some gravol before we entered the park because he is my one who totally gets queezy on spinny rides. I was surprised at how many spinning rides he did!
Allison and I also got on a couple of rides with the kids too. It was fun but like Bentley, my stomach can also only do so much. Sweet Bentley and I went on a muchroom ride that goes up in a hige circle and both of us were feeling it when we got off.
Carter was in heaven with kids to go on all the bigger rides with! He was SO happy that he FINALLY got to ride the Storm ride and to top it off, it was with his best friends. What more could you hope for!
And while the bigger kids all did this big ride, Allison and I took the rest (plus Bentley.. because that big ride would absoluetly make him puke!) on the littler roller coaster, which actually was really fun!
We went through the park and hit what felt like, most of the rides. The kids in heaven! We then made our way over to the Rollercoaster. Bentley and Penny have been SUPER nervous for this day. I knew if they both tried it, they would love it but convincing them of that was a whole different story. They were both a PACK OF NERVES! I'll say peer pressure is what actually got them to go on it. Penny's little crush, Truett, was going on for his first time too so I think that helped her to be more brave. Because I could only go with one of them, Bentley said he would ONLY go if I went with him because he didn't want to puke on anyone else (**thanks buddy lol).
Penny felt happy and confident enough to go with Truett's big brother, Nixon. We waited in line with anticipation. Finally, it was our turn. We sat in the very front car. Nixon and Penny at the very front and Bentley and I just behind them.
THEY DID SO GOOD!!! Both of them were SO happy and Nixon did such a good job helping Penny to feel safe. They said they would absolutely go again and again. Total success! When we got home tonight.. Penny was telling Brian all about it and told him how brave she was to go on the big rollercoaster and how she smiled "the entire thing!!"... Brian asked her if she was sure that she smiled the whole time.. she replied with "yes, I actually did!!" and then he showed her this photo and she BURST out laughing.. LOL At least the felt like she was smiling the whole time!
We sat for lunch and then continued to finsih the park. Next up, the log ride. All the kids hopped in together and left Allison and I in the dust. We went together and it was more fun then they know BUT since when did my kids get big enough to no longer need me to shield them on the log ride!?
We finished the day off at a couple of more rides and then the candy store. This day was the best! I love the Walkers and am so happy that they adventure with me!
When we got home today, I notice Bentley write a little note for our summer memory jar. On it said "I am happy that I was brave enough to do the rollercoaster". My heart felt so happy for him. They were brave today!

The biggest blessing of all is that all 8 of these kiddoes get along so incredibly well. They don't care who is whos age, they just all hang out and switch off. It was such a great day, how will I ever top this Calaway adventure.
