Bentley's Spooktacular Party
Tonight we celebrated Bentleys 7th birthday with 14 of his closest friends. Bentley wanted to do a Haunted House Party so that's exactly what we did!Invitations went out and planning began!

With the passing of our pup this week, we have been trying to keep VERY busy so I might have gone overboard with the decorating but it was a good distraction and it turned out really fun!

Bentley and I put all the treat bags together yesterday! I love spending time with this boy of mine!

Before the birthday party today, both sets of Bentley's grandparents came to wish him a happy birthday and brought a couple of gifts for him. Grandma and Grandpa Reed came first and Bentley was SOOO excited about his gifts!

Grandma and Grandpa Gardiner came next and Bentley was so happy to get some cash... in fact, he asked me if he could go to the store immediately. Luckily, I convinced him to go another day lol

Once 5 o'clock rolled around, the party went FAST! There were kids running around screaming.. everywhere! Mayhem, just the way our birthday parties usually are! We had pizza first followed by birthday presents! Bentley was spoiled and got so many fun things!

And a GIANT group hug to say thank you! It maybe turned into more of a Bentley sandwich but it did start out as a hug!

Then it was back to the table for some cake! Bentley requested an ice cream cake this year with a haunted house on it. Mission accomplished.

We did a touch and feel the spooky items down the dark back hallway. The kids were completely freaked out. We did things like Gremlin Bones (cleaned chicken bones), Dead Hearts (canned whole tomatoes), slimy worms (cooked spaghetti and butter), eyeballs (canned longan), Mummy ears (dried apricots) and Zombi brains (steamed whole cauliflower topped with red jello). Some kids wouldn't even try to touch it.. they couldn't see what they were feeling but we just told them "Dead Heart" and then they all freaked out from there. It was hilarious and awesome!

From there we played "Wrap the Mummy". For some reason I pictured this being a more quiet controlled game but was I ever wrong! There was toilet paper EVERYWHERE and SO MUCH OF IT!!!!!! It was super fun but a little on the crazy side. In fact, we even had them all help us clean up because it got so out of hand!

We honestly had so much fun! Just before the night ended, Brians parents stopped by wearing masks with flashlights and snuck around the backyard.. they knocked on the window... when we opened the blinds to see two scary masks lurking in the window.. the kids FREAKED out! They were screaming (I'm sure people could hear them all a block away) running away.. totally panicked. Im a bit worried we just sent everyone home tonight with nightmares lol oops! But it was the perfect ending to our spooky haunted house!
I can't believe in a few days, Bentley will be 7! SEVEN! Thats so crazy. Im excited to celebrate him, he really is one of a kind!
