Deck the Halls...
This year I feel so organized. Which also makes me feel like something disastrous is bound to happen .. (how "negative Nancy" of me lol) But seriously, the kids Christmas photos are done, our Christmas Cards are printed and all in envelopes waiting another week to actually mail them. The Christmas shopping is all done and this afternoon.. we decked the halls! I absolutely LOVE the Christmas season but find things like the shopping so distracting so its nice to get it done early before all the Christmas craze begins.
On Friday while Carter was at school and Brian was at work, Bentley, Penny and I went over to Uncle Ken and Aunt Kara's house for the annual chocolate making! We didn't get to stay near as long as everyone else because I had to leave to get Carter from school but the time spent with family is always the best. I am so lucky I married into such a wonderful family who treat me like their own. I have loved learning how to make chocolates over the years and of course we love every moment we get to spend with Grandma Reed. She is the chocolate master and we are still learning from her each year. Love you Grandma Reed!

We did our annual Christmas Tree set up video (we love doing this and showing the kids each year!)

We decorated the house and when I pulled out the nativity this year, Carter placed Jospeh and Mary, Penny placed the shepherd and her sheep and Bentley was in charge of the three wise men. This is by far my favourite thing to pull out of our decorations box. When Brian and I were newlyweds, my in laws bought us this nativity and it holds such a special place in our home and in our family. Its the prettiest nativity and 100% my style. I love the constant reminder of why we actually celebrate Christmas and feel very "protective" of this nativity set my children would say. But truly, its so special to me.

I am so excited as we begin the Christmas season. I am so excited to be on top of it this year so I can take a breath and a step back and enjoy the beauty of the true meaning of Christmas. Three kids at Christmas time means our hands are full and so are our hearts!
