CARTER IS SEVEN!

What the heck! Has it really already been seven years?! My heart aches a little each time Carter has a birthday. He holds such a special place in my heart. He is my first born. The one who made me a mother. The one who taught me that it is possible to never EVER sleep and yet somehow still stay alive. Carter, my boy, you have taught me so much and I love... and I ADORE you to pieces! At 7:27 tonight, my mind went straight back to that first minute of holding Carter. His cry, his red little face, his so very little hair. I am happy.. so very happy to have this precious boy. I feel so lucky and today, we celebrated him.

He is such a GREAT big brother. He watches over Penny like no one else and him and Bentley are best friends and worst enemies.. exactly how siblings are but when push comes to shove he ALWAYS has Bentley's back.

And although I don't need to say it.. he is SO HANDSOME! I can't even stand it!

Carter, sweetheart, you made me and your Daddy parents. You will always be our little boy, no matter how old you get... I refuse to let anyone tell me any different!

Carter couldn't decide between a LEGO party and a Pokemon Party so we decided to do both! Half Pokemon, half Lego. We had his birthday party at the Okotoks Field House and played Nerf gun capture the flag and it really was a BLAST!

Lots of his friends came out to celebrate him, he felt very special!

The guy instructing the kids made two teams.. team blue and team red. Each team had a "medic" (in the yellow!) and the kids were so good at taking turns being the medic. I was really impressed!

And then these two little ladies who didn't want to play but were so happy to run around and collect all the darts for the teams.

Each team set up their base.

And we finished off the party with a good ol' soccer game while we waited for the parents to arrive. Those kids all left so played out and sweaty and Im sure they all slept good that night!

After school today I took the kids to the Treehouse Playhouse (Carter's pick!) Where we spent way to much money on tokens for the games but truly it was so fun playing with them and against them that it was sooooo worth it. We met up with Brian and headed over to Carter's favourite restaurant... Boston Pizza, for some "Bugs and Cheese". We brought his birthday gift to him there. He was ELATED when he opened up his Star Wars blanket and Hatchimal. He has been wanting one for a couple of months and he LOVES it. Carter is such caring kid, I have no doubt that he will love on that egg to make it hatch.. He's even made it a nest in his room before bed tonight.

He had a GREAT 7th birthday and we had so much fun celebrating him. We love you Carter more than life itself. You are so special and caring and kind and thoughtful... I couldn't be more proud of the person you are becoming. I love you sweetheart, Happy 7th birthday!
