The 10lbs 10oz blessing!
On Tuesday February 7th, bright and early in the morning, Amanda's water broke. We were all so excited for her and Logan.. she was 6 days overdue. Things progressed and then slowed right down to a stop and then picked up again around dinner time on Tuesday. The moment Brian got home from work, I rushed over to the hospital to witness the most incredible thing on earth!
( I won't share a ton of pics because they are for my sister and this is really her story to tell)
I want to first say that women are warriors! My sister laboured like a champion. She had so much control and truly is such a strong woman. I am so proud of her!
I am so grateful I was there to capture every moment of that evening. I am thankful that her and I have such a strong sister bond that it was even an option. We are so close. She knows the deepest sides of me and I know hers. We are there for each other. Always. She talks me off the ledge and I do that for her too. She truly is my very best friend and the best sister I could have ever asked for. I love you Amanda!
With so much control and courage, she delivered another little baby boy at 8:11pm on Tuesday February 7th.
We were all overjoyed that he was finally here. I was a crying wreck and just felt this overwhelming joy and love for my sister and her new little man.
They named him, Maverick Logan Ausmus. He weighed in at 10 pounds 10 ounces and 22.5 inches long.
It was literally one of the most incredible days of my life being able to be apart of that and witnessing little Maverick making his way into this world. I love that I was able to capture it all in photographs and a few little videos for her. I am one VERY proud auntie!
My mom was there too and such a good support. They had one pretty wonderful team!
I will always cherish the special bond I have with my sister. She is the best listener and friend and she is so special to me.
Our kids all got to meet Maverick today. Penny has been anticipating this moment for MONTHS! Her dream is to have Maverick in his jammies with his souther and blankie sleeping with her in her bed. Amanda told her she could do that for a few minutes next week when they stop by and penny is elated! LOL she's pretty cute when it comes to Maverick.
Her getting to hold Maverick tonight was no different. She was in HEAVEN to say the least!
Carter was also SOOOOO excited to meet little Maverick. Carter has a soft spot for babies. He LOVES little babies. As soon as school was over, Carter ran out of the school saying.. MOM!!! Now we get to meet Maverick!
He adores his new little cousin so much! Tonight in his bedtimes prayers he said "And Heavenly Father, please bless that I dream about Maverick tonight". Adorable!
Bentley felt pretty special holding Maverick too. He LOVED his little toes and tiny finger nails and well.. Maverick is sort of a little celebrity right now for Carter, Bentley and Penny.
Of course Brian got a turn too and of course Penny wouldn't leave Maverick's side. I have a feeling she might be a little bit protective of him. I mean, rightfully so I guess... she's been waiting a lifetime for him!
As for me.. I got so many cuddles today!! And I wouldn't trade them for the world! Infant baby cuddles are THE BEST! I am so happy Maverick is finally here and that we can finally snuggle, kiss and smell that gorgeous baby smell! Little Mav, you are loved!
This afternoon, I got to take some newborn photos for Maverick. He is a big little guy so we needed to do them ASAP and 3 days fresh was perfect! I won't share them all but ill share a few of my favourite ones. How lucky am I to be able to be an auntie to his adorable little munchkin!
Truly, honestly, I am the lucky one. Thank you Amanda and Logan for sharing these special moments with me and letting me freeze these precious moments in time for you. Congrats on your new family of FIVE!
