Carter is FIVE!

FIVE!! What The?! Is this real life!!? I feel like five years has gone by so incredibly fast! When I shut my eyes, I can still feel Carter's precious heartbeat the first time the doctor laid him on my chest. I can remember his first cry and feeling so relieved that he was finally here and healthy. He was our first baby, the very first one to show us unconditional love between a parent and their child. He was our "wash the souther every other hour, sterilize all the bottles, never let his toes get cold" baby. He was completely protected. I cannot believe that little baby is now 5!

Of course with a Birthday, always comes a party so that is exactly what we did!



But this time, it was a party only for kids his age! Friday was his actual Birthday. He went to Kindergarten with little brownies to share with his class and his teacher told us that everyone sang him Happy Birthday. He said it was a great day. Right after school, I loaded up the kids and we went to a fun little place called "Fun n More". Its basically a huge indoor jungle gym. We met up with my sister and her boys and all the kids went WILD. After that, we all came back to our place for pizza and cupcakes. My parents joined us as well!





This was super simple. We just iced a cupcake and put a bunch of 5 cent candies down and let the kids decorate their own cupcake! Perfect!





Then Carter opened up his present from my parents. Lego and a Ninja Lego book.. Oh! and Fruit Loops.. Hahaha! He asked her to buy him some for his birthday.. so she did! He was ecstatic about all his new Lego!









He got some more Ninja Lego stuff from his cousins too.. he was in heaven!



Then he opened ours. We bought him this fun Hot Wheels truck that carries 25 hot wheels cars. He begged me for it in September and left the store balling when I said "no" but he didn't know I snuck back in just to grab it and have been saving it until now. The second he ripped open the wrapping paper.. he literally screamed with excitement at the top of his lungs! We were all killing ourselves laughing!



For his birthday party with all of his friends, we rented out the lake house from our community and had a blast!! The weather was PERFECT today! We all went sledding for the first hour. All 9 of the kids were having the time of their lives! Laughing, running, screaming, jumping on each other.. it was so much fun to watch. They were NON-STOP up and down that hill for a whole hour!





































After an hour, the kids were tired.. and oh my gosh, so was I! Watching 9 kids sledding and hulling them up the hill over and over is exhausting.. and I cannot really feel my legs.. but thats good right? We went back inside the lake house for cake.















And then we did gifts. Kids are so fun to watch with gifts.. they were are all so excited to see what he got.. and most of them even told Carter what it was before he had a chance to open it... "CARTER!!! WE GOT YOU LEGO.. BUT I CANT REMEMBER WHAT IS IT.. BUT ITS AWESOME!!!" and "Its a game.. you will LOVE IT!!" haha! I love them all so much!





















Carter was truly spoiled.. and every single thing he got.. he truly LOVED! Thank you so so much to everyone who came! He had .. and I quote .. "That was the best birthday I ever had!"

We finished off the party with a solid game of tag...



...and a good amount of "Simon Says" ...





And right before the parents came.. we turned on the movie "Inside out" to let them wind down a little ...



Each little one took home their goodie bag..



And we called it a day! Carter is so lucky to have so many friends and people who love him so so much!

My dear Sweet Carter. You are my sunshine. You have the biggest heart. When you love, you love hard. You are kind and caring and ALWAYS give me hugs and kisses when you see that I am upset. You my dear, have a very special place in my heart. I love when we go on dates, just the two of us. And I love buying you Kinder Eggs.. they are your favourite right now. I love how much you adore school and you make friends really easily. I love you so much! You also have a little spice to your personality! You are super stubborn and are just learning how to really talk back.. but also quickly learning that thats not a good idea. You can be a fiery little firecracker and you always know what you want! You also know (very very well) how to push Mom & Dad's buttons. You give the best tight hugs and you still kiss me everyday in front of all your friends at kindergarten and I LOVE that so so much!

Happy 5th Birthday darling. You are my world.
