Summer Lovin'
Summer is almost over.. WHAT!? We have had by far the busiest summer of our lives together and it has been awesome! The weather last week wasn't great but there was one beautiful day so we took every minute of it and had fun! The kids and I went and checked out our new lake and we LOVED it! It is so beautiful and its ours to use whenever we want, all year round!

The kids loved playing in the sand but I was really surprised by Penny! She was totally enjoying herself.. and was even messier than her brothers. I had to make sure to keep her soother in her mouth though because she is at that glorious age where EVERYTHING (including sand) goes into her mouth!

Nothing like a cute little sandy beach bum!

I remember playing in the sand when I was little.. and it wasn't gross or "dirty" it was just fun... I wish I still felt that way... at least the kids do!

Penny even crawled INTO the water until it was at her face.. then she would sit up on her knees and splash.. lots of people were asking how old she was and commenting on how surprised they were at just how much she was loving the lake.. and to be honest, I was too!

And although the kids were tired.. ok ok .. although I was tired.. we went home and set up this gem! It was SO MUCH FUN for them!

Penny took a little dip later in the evening but was happy to watch them in the window while I prepared dinner first.

Penny is now 10 and a half months and that just sounds crazy to me. She's at the age of eating everything, destroying everything and getting into EVERYTHING!!! The other day, I was making cookies and could hear her in the pantry shaking the little individual bags of oatmeal but really didn't think she could open them so I just let it be knowing she was happy and safe. Two minutes later, I hear Carter say "uh oh Mommy... look what Penny did..." I grab the camera which was right beside me (knowing I would need it) and then saw this...

.. the moment she saw me, she started BAWLING!!! Like, SO SO SAD!! What a sweet little precious girl lol

Also this week, Penny was able to see some of her little baby friends! Aria and Ryder.. SO SO Cute!

Saturday, we hung out with the Reed's! We were supposed to go camping but Friday was FREEZING.. it rained all day was only 5 degreed and snowed.. yes snowed.. IN AUGUST! A couple other things came up too so we all knew it was just best to stick around and enjoy the day. We played at the park...

Had a picnic lunch and played frisby! The bigger kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves and so did their Grandpa Reed.. he is the AMAZING with all of our children, and such a great Grandpa! I am so lucky to have him as a father-in-law!

After that fun, we all went Canoeing. All the kids loved it except for Evie I think. Penny nearly fell asleep and Bentley went twice! Carter decided to hold off on the second trip and just hang out with Grandpa.

And while everyone was packing up, I was able to capture this sweet gem! Bentley and his little cousin Lucy.. aren't they adorable!!

Playtime is always fun with family. I am so lucky to have AMAZING in laws who treat me like their own. Who love my kids unconditionally and my kids love them! We are so excited to welcome the newest sister-in-law into the Reed family! Brian's brother Steven is getting married to Meghan in only 6 more sleeps (as Carter and Bentley keep reminding me)! Carter is most excited.. he LOVES Meghan! Like, LOVES her!! Its pretty adorable and I know she is an amazing pick for Steven and will be an incredible auntie to my kids.... what more could I ask for! So excited for them!
What a fun week we have had! Looking forward to more memories in the making this next week as we soak up as much of summer as we physically can!
