Country Culture

This year, we skipped stampede. Crazy! First time that Brian and I haven't gone together for since we've been together for the past 9 years! The reason: Student Debt.. starting a new job.. and ITS SO EXPENSIVE! But to be honest I don't really feel like I missed out. Of course I would have loved to have gone, but really its "No Biggie", we will just go next year.

The only "real" stampede thing we did this year was ONE stampede breakfast. To be honest, I am not even really a fan of stampede breakfasts.. the crowds are crazy, the pancakes are usually under cooked, the fake sausage is less than appealing to me, but my Dad invited us to go and its kind of a tradition.. so we went and Im glad we did.. we had a blast!

I got the kids up bright and early and my Dad picked us up at 7:45am.

Does Bentley look like a girl to you in this outfit?! TWO different people asked me how old "SHE" was at the breakfast.. and I so desperately tried to nicely reply (although I don't think I succeeded on the "nicely part").. "HE is 8 months old and HIS name is Bentley!" .. nothing about his outfit (or complete look for that matter) seems girly to me.. I guess I am just an overprotective mama-bear.

When we got there the line was already HUGE! We stuck the kids in the wonderful wagon and waiting in line with all smiles!

I skipped the weird sausage.. but the pancakes were AMAZING! We also got bananas, yogurt, cheese and juice boxes! Best stampede breakfast I've ever been to!

Plus Carter was LOVING hanging out with Grandpa.. driving in Grandpa's truck and making Grandpa spin around and around!

What better morning could Carter have had than hanging out in Grandpa's arms!

Bentley was just fully relaxing.. enjoying the sun and the company!

We even met up with my sister and adorable nephew, Taytum, for the breakfast!

Next, we stood in line so both Taytum and Carter could make a rope! This was right up my Dad's alley.. he is still a Farmer at heart!

Now that stampede is over, its back to trains and dirt for us.. typical boy!

And although this year we skipped Stampede and the greatest outdoor show on earth.. its in our Calgarian blood to still soak up the Country culture.. and we did just that!
